|
|
I read a few times that it happend to others, and now it happend to me.. I sold a Xmas stocking on Ebay. It took the buyer about 10 days to pay, though she was in contact with me, so I was patient. Then after she paid through paypal, I printed a shipping lable at Paypal and used it to mail her order. It shows as recieved, and today I opened my paypal account and I see the payment is reversed! I'm at work right now, and I can't check emails or ebay from here. She never contacted me since I got her payment. I know I mailed a high quality product to a verified address. I know thankfkully it's not a lot of money, but still I feel very frustrated. I haven't contacted paypal yet. Any advice from more experienced sellers is highly appreciated. |

1st you need to find out why the payment was reversed.
if it is a dispute, then you still have a chance to reclaim the funds.
the the most important thing though is finding out WHY.
Once you find out why we can work from there

Kenny,
thanks for the reply! I'll try to figure it out first thing when I come home, if they emailed the reason to me... |

You should be able to get the reason right on the paypal site. |

You should probably call PayPal directly. Chances are they are not going to email you with any information. You will need to find out exactly what happen and aurgue your case. I don't have the phone number but I'm sure someone here does have it handy.
This is just from my own experience but most reversals/chargebacks are initiated by the buyer. I have only had this happen to me twice and each time the buyer "claimed" they never receive the products. If you have all the correct information it's still a 50/50 chance that PayPal will go in your favor. If you have a signed DC is will sure help.
Let us know how it turns out. |

thanks aspencounty, I will. I feel even more confused now - she already left a positive feedback "Super fast delivery! A+++ Great eBayer - hope to do business again!", clearly she admitted she got it..
I'll call paypal tomorrow (I found the phone number on their site) |

Happy ending!!! THe hold is removed, so I have my money back! Thank you for the support yesterday!
Well, I got it at a cost of 40 minutes and talking to 3 paypal reps. Apparently the charge didnt go through somehow on Paypal end, so after 3 weeks they decided I had to pay for that, so they placed the hold. When I referred to their seller protection policy, they advised I reread it. I said sure, and then asked if the policy advised sellers not to ship for 3 weeks to make sure that paypal really meant ok when they said it was ok to ship. After which I got transferred to a supervisor who removed the hold from my money! Well, no loss so far, I hope it stays this way, but I will certainly start to encourage my buyers to use Google instead of paypal. |

I am glad the problem is sold. Your case is one of the many that make me so reluctant to offer PayPal here, but I still do. Although I did not yet have any major issues with them, I heard lots of horror stories. Anyways.
In case you need to contact PayPal on the phone any time soon again, here is the number
1 888 221 1161
Best to you, happy holidays! |
