eCrater is now over 300,000 item listings. Way too cool. Climbing fast towards the Big dogs! |

I plan to add about 3,000 to that count in the next few days. |

BargainBarn - I have asked this question before --- where are they getting that figure from? I find no proof to back up their numbers at all - every!
218153 found on ecrater.com
+ 5840 in Sex Stuff
223,993 items total per the ecrater.com site search
254,035 per froogle
that's not 300,000 that PSUnite site reports and they won't tell where they get their figures. I say they have no proof to back up their so call counts. |

Why would they make these fiqures up? Could it be that the fiqures are correct and that froogle and other sites eliminate violation items while PSUnite does not. |

No idea why they would do anything. Just wonder where they get their figures and why even when asked they won't tell.
The ecrater.com site should have the most accurate count and that"s
218153 found on ecrater.com

223,993 items total per the ecrater.com site search |

I would like to see the actual number of completed transactions compared to the total number of listings ( what ever that number is).
There could be a million listing but that to me doesn't mean much unless I knew how many are being sold. |

completed listings showing to the public have become less and less available.
Personally, I don't even like the fact that a sellers feedback shows the number of orders placed. I would definately hate it if the site showed what items I have sold or even the number of them. It's no ones business. Normally that info is only looked at by competitors. Or of course sellers that are thinking of selling on a site. BUT when it's YOUR store - why show the competition? |

Yeah, that certainly seems reasonable. How could the PSUnited be so far off? |

To find the number of all listings: advanced search - check the sex stuff checkbox and click search.
At the moment I am writing this there are 300,125 listings.
Regarding the total amount of sales: We cannot track all sales. For example we cannot track purchases through money order, cashier's check, personal checks, part of the Google Checkout transactions, and COD.
Last month eCRATER processed around $300,000 in tracked transactions. In Jan 2006 eCRATER processed $12,000. So as you can see the growth is good. |

still that's a HUGE difference between the advance search and the normal search - --- makes one wonder where those 70,000 items are in the regular search. |

SMC stuff doesn't come up in the main search, does it? But if that's the case why would they come up in advanced search? |

That's correct --- if it's KNOWN SMC stuff or any other affilate, representive, pyramid, type products - it should come up in a normal search. Why it comes up in any search - I don't know.
The numbers indicate that there are about 70,000 of these type of items. That's a BUNCH! And I am sure as time goes on that number will grow fast! |
