how can we make gifts certificat or coupons

I was wondering if it is possible to make gift certificat or reduction coupons for my customers ?

I'm in Canada and I wanted to offer coupons or gift certificat to not only my Canadian customers but also to the customer that come's back.

Something like buy 2 get one free or 10% off coupon or just do like colombia house , bring a new customer and get a reduction .

Gift certificates - meaning someone pays you $50 to get a gift certificate for someone to spend $50 with you when they want are very tricky. Many states have different laws regarding them as far as time restraints etc.

As for discounts - there are many pay code companys out there that you can use. I THINK that PayPal also has a spot that you can enter a code and when a customer uses that code they get the discount you offered on that code. Check the PayPal site.

Personally, I offer a discount and state that the discount portion will be refunded to them after total payment is made. It's just easier for me that way.
