I tried to put a friends ecrater widget on my website but it's not showing up. (mine is however) I got a message saying there were not enough items in his store to display.
If so, how many items are needed?

I believe they have to have enough items to fill the widget --- 4 or 5 |

WOW! your store looks better than some of the large department stores. I never understood what widget were they can really help draw bussiness to your store from other online areas. |

It appear that widgets were supported in googlepages but no longer are in google sites. has anyone come across and confirmed it? Their 'help' on this subject seems somewhat contradictory on this subject, but my experience with this would suggest that widgets are no longer supported. Has anyone found to be otherwise? |

I just edited my googlepages site this morning. The widgets are working OK. You can find the link to my site in the first page of this topic. |

Thanks AC I know, googlepages is fine. Google Sites is new and takes the place of googlepages. One can not sign up (new folks) for googlepages anymore - google sites is the only option. It is supposedly better than googlepages. Not being able to handle widgets does not strike me as "better." |

I sent Dimitri a note regarding the widget not working on the new google site pages.
Maybe someone will post a way to do it soon. |

I don't think it has to do with eCrater. I just signed up there and tried a few things. I think it has to do with Google Sites itself and their safety settings. For some reason it is observing the widget code as a pest and cleaning it when you try to save it.
When I edit html and try to save this is what I get:
Quote: | Your HTML either contains unsafe tags (iframe, embed, styles, script) or extra attributes. They will be removed when the page is viewed. |

WOW your store is amazing! Happy Halloween everyone! Any suggestions on getting my widget working on blogger, anyone? I was thinking of even just adding my logo and making it click to go to my store but it kinda defeats the purpose of the widget, in my opinion. iunno. Help?

There is nothing wrong with widget working at blogger. I started a blog a while back to test it (then abandoned it), but it is working just fine. Here is the link http://acread.blogspot.com/
That widget was a regular one (not a flash type).
I am guessing you are having trouble because of the way you are adding the code to blogger.
1. Get the code from ecrater.
2. open your blog
3. go to layout
4. click on add gadget
5. scroll down to "HTML/Java Script" and click on it.
6. enter code in the box and give it a title (title might be optional)
7. don't forget to save |
