I opened my store a couple of weeks ago and I accept Pay Pal.
Should I add Google Checkout? Will adding this really make a difference in my sales?
Thanks! |

Half of my sales have used Google Checkout.
It's not difficult to set up (there is an FAQ that is excellent) nor difficult to maintain. It provides your buyers with an alternative to PayPal. Not everyone has shopped on eBay so not everyone has heard of PayPal.
I think you should definately set it up. |

Last month all except 4 sales paid through Google Checkout. Two of them by check and 2 by PayPal. I was really glad I use it. |

alot of people that stopped using "the bay" stopped paypal as well.
I just don't think it hurts giving as many choices as possible. As long as you are not paying a monthly fee, it can only be a good thing.
I bet 90% of my payments are google. |

I stopped, to many problems for me. I wish more Ecrater sellesrs offered Google Checkout! I would have done more of my X-mas shopping if they did.

It only makes sense to add Google Checkout. All our product info gets fed to Google Product search, so we get quite a bit of traffic from there. The people who use Google Shopping will be more likely to trust and use a Google product for electronic payment than PayPal (despite what eBayers think not everyone knows about it and hence won't be willing to use it). The fees are less for the sellers as well.
About half my sales are by GC. The other half is PayPal. I only got two money order orders, both of which were fake. |

I had a Paypal sale today. That is the first in at least 6 weeks. All the rest have been Google and a couple of fakes. I save about $20 a month using Google over Paypal and I do offer and gladly accept PP. |

I agree, many buyers are using google checkout rather than paypal. Most of my sales come through google checkout. And the fees are much lower in comparison to paypal. So the answer is yes. It certainly can't hurt to add it. Giving buyers as many options as possible when it comes to your listings is a good thing in this slow economy. |

Keep in mind that there's a good chance more buyers use Google Checkout (when it's integrated) because it's the first thing they see and some may be confused/impatient about how to find PayPal or other options (due to Google's requirement that GCO gets prominence).
That said, Google's easy enough to set up and it's always a good idea to offer another online payment option (especially one with such name recognition). |

Since I added Google Checkout I've onyl had 1 sale through PayPal and actually a slight increase in sales (probably not related but who knows). The lower fees are so much nicer, plus the fact that it goes into my bank account automatically. |

I would definitely add it. I actually added it on Saturday and had two sales on Monday with it. It's definitely not going to HURT business that's for sure. |

Can someone provide a link so that I can read up on the ins and outs of GC? I am an ex-feeBay seller and have always used PayPal which is what I accept now.
I'd like to add Google Checkout. |
