Okay, I've had cabin fever too long and it has started snowing again, but why do you keep items hidden for months and months? I understand them being hidden if you use drop shippers and it is a matter of weeks till they are back in stock, but for months? |

I agree there is a problem somewhere with hidden items. Just the other day I received and inquiry about an item that I had sold several weeks ago and was hidden with a quanity of 0.
Now as it was there wasn't a sale made but the person should not have been able to see the item so they could inquire about it.
And yes the inquiry went through ecrater and was not direct. |

LOL am I the only one that reads the News & System Status section of the forum.
Please read: http://www.ecrater.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=12191 People have been able to see hidden products for months now. If they have the url of the page (posted by you at a site or a forum, bookmarked by them, of at Google Product Search for a while at least) they can see the page.
There is no problem. As long as they cannot buy it. If they buy it and the item was hidden and not as I stated in my previous post on this topic (in the previous page), then there may be a problem.
But since your product wasn't bought, there is nothing malfunctioning. |

not as a rule I don't, and i am not a drop shipper either. there are about four items i have kept on hidden status just mainly as an oversight. |

Yeah but did you check your listings after that incident? Are you 100% that the listing was hidden at the time of purchase? If so, then you need to contact eCrater (cause he may need to correct stuff in coding). But if you haven't checked before (when the incident happened) you cannot be sure it was something left unchecked (which means there is no malfunction. And eCrater don't have to fix coding). |

I never delete any listings after I hide them and for two reasons: (1) I may get the item in again and can reuse the description, and (2) it's a useful, quick reference if I need to remind myself what a certain item sold for previously, etc. |
