Adult Content Sellers
It has come to my attention that Google Checkout does not allow the use of their processor on Adult Content items.

What to check to deal with the "Ooops" message at the the checkout:

This is a common problem that occurs with Google Checkout settings at eCrater if there is a mistake in the setting of this Payment Option.

Then the Google Checkout button at your stores cart is clicked and you get a message that says:

Oops!
seller name has sent Google a shopping cart with errors in it. We'll contact them to ask that they fix this problem. As this could be a temporary issue, you can go back in your browser to try checking out again.

You might want to check the following:

1. Check to see if the Merchant ID is saved in the Merchant Key box and vice versa.

2. When copying sometimes the first digit or the last digit might not get selected, or there could be extra spaces infront of the character string or end of it. To reassure its correctness clear the boxes and copy them again from your Google Checkout account carefully.

3. The business account url you entered may be wrong (double ckeck ot see the store homepage url is entered there properly. That one is not the API Callback url)

4. In GC account go to "Integration" page and see if there is a check in front of "My company will only post digitally signed carts". If there is remove it. (Don't forget to save)

5. Google Checkout does not accept buyers from Andorra anymore. If that country is selected in your eCrater store Shipping Zones, remove it.

6. See the following threads for more ideas about similar situation:

7. Make sure your bank account verification at Google Checkout is completed.

How To Add Google Checkout To eCRATER Stores:

This gets asked quite often so I thought I'd add a post to the topic.

1. First you need to open a Google Checkout account. Here is the sign up page: https://www.google.com/accounts/ServiceLogin?service=sierra&continue=https%3A%2F%2Fcheckout.google.com%2Fmain%3Fupgrade%3Dtrue&hl=en_US&nui=1&ltmpl=default Click on Sign Up button and enter the required info.

2. Login to your Google Checkout account (if you have not ended up in it with Sign up), go to Settings-->Payment Settings-->Profile and fill out all the information required. Make sure to add your Public business info and especially your Public Business url. Your Public business url is the homepage of your eCrater store. Which you can locate in your eCrater account by clicking on Preview. For example this is mine http://acread.ecrater.com/ . Put it in this form. No www before the store name. So it is Store name dot ecrater dot com.

3. The second step is the verification of your bank account info. This is a process where Google will deposit a small amount of money (less than a dollar) in your bank account. Then when you see the amount of the deposit you open your Google Checkout (GC) account and verify the bank account by entering the quantity of the deposit in the space provided for it. This is located in Settings-->Payment Settings-->Financials.

Keep in mind that the electronic transfer for the deposit will take anywhere from 3-7 days (business days).

4. After the bank verification is complete you can find your Merchant ID and Merchant Key in the GC account. They are located at the Settings-->Payment Settings-->Integration page. Copy them to your eCrater account Payment Options section in the appropriate boxes. Make sure to not change the lower upper case of the characters, leave out characters (may it be dashes etc.) or add additional spaces. What you enter should look exactly the same as what appears at the GC account. Check the box in front of "Secure Checkout through Google Checkout" (may need to do this before pasting the Merchant ID and Key). Scroll down and click on "update"

5. Copy the API callback url below the merchant ID and key boxes in eCrater accounts Payment Options.
API Call Back url for all eCrater stores is: https://www.ecrater.com/google/response-handler.php (this is not a link, forum here turns everything starting with an http into a link. clicking will not access you anthing. You just select and copy it)
Call back method is: XML

6. Paste the API call back url (or type it in, but make sure there are no errors) in the provided space in your GC account Integration page (same place you found the Merchant ID and Key.) Select the Callback method as XML and click on "Save"

7. In your GC account go to Preferences (same location as the Integration tab is but a couple of lines above it.) Click on the box in front of "Email me each time I receive an order, cancellation or other transaction." and save, so you will receive email notification in case you get a Google Checkout order. eCrater is not allowed to send you email notice (due to the way eCrater notices are set up), so this will be the only email notice of the order.

If you have the USPS calculated shipping (the shipping calculator) enabled in your store, the Google Checkout coupon code will not work. The coupon code entry box will not appear at the payment page at Google Checkout.

The coupon code offer is an optional service, so it will not effect the functioning of Google Checkout or your stores payment acceptance process.

New Merchant Policy in effect

As a new merchant you have been placed on our New Merchant Policy [?] which schedules payouts two calendar weeks after the initial order as opposed to the two day payout for established merchants. Assuming normal activity, you will be placed on two day payouts in 60 days after signing up.

SHOULD I TEST IF MY GOOGLE CHECKOUT SET UP IS DONE PROPERLY BY BUYING AN ITEM IN MY STORE AND PAYING MYSELF WITH IT?

NO. Do NOT ever COMPLETE A PAYMENT TO YOURSELF at Google Checkout. That will get your Google Checkout account suspended if and when Google Checkout sees it. A lot of new sellers make such a mistake and we have seen some loose their Google Checkout account for this reason.

Paying oneself with electronic payment methods is a money laundering method, hence the electronic payment companies (like Google Checkout and PayPal) take it very seriously and will not tolerate it. Do not chance your account.

You can make a partial purchse in your store. That is only go in as far as to login to your Google Checkout account in the purchase process. But never ever OK the payment.
