has anyone had an order(s) placed as a JOKE !! someone with a scrambled address,(letters and symbols) and a yahoo.com email address. I intend on canceling the order tomorrow afternoon, if they don't reply. Once canceled will the item purchased by them be placed back into "stock" automatically, or will I need to manually re-list it |

what do you mean by scrambled address?
did the person just enter nonsense as address?
is it a money order or a check payment?
It's probably a fake order happens from time to time. Especially with money order or check payments.
Could be someone checking out the shipping cost.
Could be another seller checking out the cart. |

For it to be fake means you could not have received any INSTANT payment - therefore the items are NOT out of your inventory anyways.
Personally, I just ignore any order until I get a payment. |

the address was just three lines of random letters and a ny zip code. As of this morning - no reply- and no payment - so I deleted the FAKE order. Don't these people have better things to do |

It's part of sellign online.
Be glad it's not a broick and mortar store and they are shoplifting!
This crap online don't cost you a thing. And the way I handle it - it don't even cost me any time. |

People who aren't sure how the system works will go through all the steps so they know what to expect. Could be a seller or a buyer. It happens to all of us somewhere along the line. |

be there, done that ... almost - but the I either cancel the order or just log off
why confirm the order, add alphabet soup for an address, and leave your email address as proof -not very clever of this person ! |

Chances are it's a worthless FREE email addy that they never use.
If you want to see how the system works you have to complete this info |

this is NOT an auction website
You can expect it everywhere. Even on paid sites. Then you have the hassle of filing in hopes of getting you money back.
At least here you can just ignore it. |

RJK, did they add more than one item to the cart? Maybe they were testing out the below from your FAQ page:
Quote: | Current Promotion
Effective NOW - Buy 2nd item and get 50% Off shipping, of the lower shipping cost. Offers always welcomed |
Or, since your shipping includes insurance and tracking maybe they wanted to see if any additional $$ was added at checkout.
There are all sorts of possibilities. |

just 1 item "ordered", it was just a nuisance. they could have just emailed a question, rather than going thru their "test" exercise |

Yeah, it's a nuisance but expect it to happen again. But in the future you can be sure that nonsense addresses mean you can ignore it and move on. |
