One of the sellers on ecrater has taken one of my pictures, along with my ad, from my website.
All of my material on the site has a copyright.
This is clearly stated.
Is there anything that can be done through ecrater or do I have to hand it over to my legal people?
Thank you for your help. |

Well before you hand things over to "legal people" first contact eCrater about it. (Considering it is still weekend and they usually have a few days waiting time, give them time to respond to your message).
Use the contact form http://www.ecrater.com/contact.php
Make sure to include what listings and images you are refering to in the message. (Maybe add urls of the product pages. Yours and the other sellers) |

Old in the attic doesn't have an operative ecrater store. Must be referring to another website. |

Whatever, they still need to contact eCrater about it. There is nothing to be done at the forum about it. |

Good morning. I'm sorry I couldn't answer right away. I live in France and the time difference would have me in bed at that time.
MaggirtheCatsMeows:
You're right. It is my website I am speaking about. I have three and each one is protected by copyright.
I joined ecrater so I could contact/report the seller.
Thank you for the link and the information ACRead.
I wasn't even sure where to ask. This is my first time on this site.
Thank you both for your replies.

AC, we do have a legal department within Rames International Inc. I prefer dealing with matters, such as these, on a more personal level and only turn them over to Legal when that approach has failed.
Again, thank you both for your help.

if that's how you feel then contact the seller directly - look at their contact page for info. since you didn't post the seller or item in question I can't look at what the seller provides
Reporting it to the ecrater.com team along with proof will get their store shut down and the seller won't know why or anything else. |

BigTallMensClothing,
I did contact the seller two times during a five say period. I did not get any reply.
I have now received a reply from ecrator. I sent them all of the proof and they have taken care of the problem.
It would have been far better if the seller had simply removed the material. I did try.
The seller will know exactly why the shop is closed. She failed to remove the material as per request.
Thank you again.
Regards,

good good.... I'm glad this was taken care of. I don't understand when people take other's photos! I don't even use stock photos for my video store
I scan the EXACT item they are getting! Just don't get it sometimes.
Good to see ecrater is keeping those sellers off here! Thanks for letting them know! |

Old-in-the-attic, why don't you open a shop in ecrater now that you know how helpful we all are. Most of us don't steal pics and copyrighted materials. In fact we are probably way ahead of the pack when it comes to keeping the site clean. |
