Quanity listed?

Ok I have read alot of the help topics and know when a item sells and I am sold out I need to either remove the item or put a sold out pic in.

Though what if you list the quanity of a item as 2 and someone trys to buy 3? Does it inform them they cant buy 3?

If not why is it there?

If you put a 2 in the max quantity box found next to taxable item when you are creating the listing - then a buyer can only buy 2.
If they put a 3 on the order it will change - I think to 2 - but you can test it out for yourself and see for sure.
I know for sure it won't allow them to buy 3 AT ONE TIME.
They can buy 2, then place another order for 1 or 2 more - immediately after they ordered the first 2.

The max quantity box is like a LIMIT of how many can be purchased at one time.
