I ran into the same issues with Outlook Express not being compatible with Windows 7 when I upgraded my computer in January. I downloaded Mozilla Thunderbird for my mail client and have been really pleased with it. It will do many of the things you are looking for, directs emails to files from different email addresses, will sound alert when mail comes in and several other ways to customize your email. I don't know if you need to have Firefox as your browser, but you may want to check it out and see if it fits your needs.

Hi Maggie,
Actually, Windows Mail is different than Window Live Mail.
I use Windows Mail, standard mail program that comes free with Windows Vista.

I can right-click on any mail and choose to change the settings on that sender or add them to contact list. Yep, I get some occasionally that should not be in the spam folder. I just right click>.choose>>Junk-eMail>>then change the settings for that sender. (Either start sending it to Spam, or keeping it in IN box.)

You might not be able to do that Windows Live mail. I don't have that.

If you're missing the calender from Outlook, just go to START and type "calendar" in that little window. Microsoft always provides a free calender too.

Sandy
