list your suspicions!
1. other ecommerce or auction sites jealous of ecrater's business model and success? you know who those could be. |

On the Internet, a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack is one in which a multitude of compromised systems attack a single target, thereby causing denial of service for users of the targeted system. The flood of incoming messages to the target system essentially forces it to shut down, thereby denying service to the system to legitimate users.
I am truly glad that ecrater was able to get back up as quick as it did from this vicious attack.
During the week of February 7th through 11th, 2000, we saw them emerge as a major new category of attack on the Internet. They took out many sites, including Yahoo, Buy.com, eBay, Amazon, Datek, E*Trade, and CNN. The victims were unreachable for several hours each. |

Give ecrater time to work on it. It will take as long as it needed to. |

Hi, people are saying the site is back up, yet I still can not see either my store or log in and ive had several customers email me, inquiring whats going on.
when will it be fully back up? Is it only up for a few people and not others?
Its like 9am in KSA which is like 1-2 am in EST USA.
Thanks
Umm Ibrahim |

The site is still down for me too.
I not understand how some store owners say the site is up while others like myself find the site is down.
Any ideas anyone? |

I'm in the same boat...and I'm getting a bit worried about it.
But hey, everyone in the US is sleeping right now, while we're over here worrying. LOL |

Hi,
I can see both of your stores. I wouldn't worry about it, eCrater probably hasn't got all of them up yet as it was probably a wide range of areas.
They are pretty good at it so I would just give it some time and check back again.
I am in the USA and I'm not sleeping yet, but I guess I better be getting there.

Does everyone understand what a DDOS attack is? It is "Denial of Service Attack"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denial-of-service_attack
I am sure that eCRATER is doing everything possible to stop this attack and return access to all stores. From what I have experienced, there have been periods when I am able to log in and periods when not able to log in. |
