Just had to vent somewhere.

We lost our little 9-year-old mini dachshund, Molly, on Sunday. We
got her when she was 9 months old from a rescue group. She was the
sweetest, best dog, she loved everyone, and was such a good little
girl. Such a personality. It was so unexpected, I just can't wrap my
mind around it. She wasn't herself the last few weeks and I had her
at the vet 3 times with what we thought were minor ailments, but so
much more was going on than even the vet suspected. We had to let her
go instead of letting her suffer through treatments that weren't
expected to help.

I just miss her so much and can't seem to stop the tears. Being a
stay at home Mom, she was my constant companion and now it's so
quiet, no nails clicking on the floor, no sound of her collar tags
when she would shake herself. No little face and wagging tail that
got me through some tough times.

Thanks for listening.
Rebecca

So sorry for your loss.

When the time is right, there is another wonderful companion out there waiting for someone like you.
My prayers are with you in this trying time.

Rebecca,

I'm so sorry, it's so hard when you loose such a dear friend. Your description of clicking nails and collar tags struck so close to home with me - those some noises I depend on hearing every day - that tears came to my eyes.

((((((Rebecca)))))) Crying or Very sad So sorry for your loss. The hardest part of having these little guys is letting them go, always too soon. I've been there 2x now and it is the hardest thing ever. Some may not understand, but losing my girls was worse than when I lost my grandmother. They are such a part of every moment and the hole they leave is huge. I hope you have friends and family who understand and that you can talk to. In my family, you don't talk about your loss, it might make you cry. Well, sometimes trying not to cry is harder.
When you are up to it and if you want to come back and tell us more about Molly.
Dang, I try not to read these posts until I'm ready to go home. Gotta get the tissues Sad
Mourn for Molly but also remember her with joy and love.
Best wishes,
Terry

Rebecca, I am so sorry for your loss. It is hard to lose such a wonderful companion. I lost my kitty last year and miss him dreadfully. Your Molly was so beautiful!

I l know only too well the huge hole the loss of a pet leaves. They give so much and then they are gone and no human can fill the gap. Allow yourself to grieve and then when it is time the right replacement will be there waiting for you.

I was at the funeral of an elderly woman today and no one shed a tear but part of the eulogy was about her love and devotion to her animal friends.

Don't feel silly if you need to share stories about your precious pet.

My heart aches for you. When we make furry friends part of our family we promise to love and care for them always. The loving is easy, but the hardest decision for their care is made when we feel so helpless and alone. I have had losses and additions to 'my 3 boys' over the years. When you are ready, there will be a little one looking for a forever home where they will be loved and cared for.

So very sorry Rebecca...I've been there and the pain is devastating.

Take comfort in the fact you gave Molly a wonderful loving home.

I hope it gets easier for you soon and you just remember her love with a smile...

We are sorry for your loss. We lost our Yoshi over six years ago with epilepsy. We lived through the disease for over two years, and it was a blessing to let him have peace. He is still missed every day, and we have an abused rescue maltese now, that will never take his place, but we love him dearly. I see so many of Yoshi's qualities in our Boo, and thankful every day to have them both in my heart. It is good to be able to talk about your Molly. Smile for all the happiness she has given you.

My thoughts are with you also. Losing a dear friend is saddening and leaves an emptiness that takes much time to fill.

This is a site below created by a community member of a local forum that has a wonderful poem (Rainbow Bridge) and tributes to many of the furry family members that have passed away.

There are also a links to more poems at the bottom of the page.

Just wanted to say thank you for all of the kind words! It helps to know I'm not alone. It's still so hard to believe she's gone even after a month. I still cry, but I try to remember the good times, too. She was such a character and so funny. But most of all she just loved to be loved, that's really all she wanted, someone who would cuddle up and rub her tummy. That was usually me. Smile I think her favorite time of day was after the kids were in bed and she had me all to herself and we'd sit on the couch for a couple hours, watching tv or nodding off. That total, unconditional love is so precious.

So here's to all the faithful furry friends that have gone to the next life...

See you at the Rainbow Bridge...

We lost our pom Tina 2 years ago. Had her 15 years. I still miss her even though we have two other dogs. It will get easier though.
