|
|
Hello guys i recently received bad negative feedback from one of my customer because the product doesn't have the user manual for her to read.
Then i saw on my product listing my feedback score is - 95,42% instead of 95,42% without (-).
Are this normal or some kind of bug ?
Thanks guys. |

Feedback is weighted by the price of the item. So your positive feedbacks must have been for less expensive items and received less weight.
Ex. - Item A cost $10.00, Item B cost $20, and Item C cost $70. A and B received positive feedback, C received negative feedback. So 30% of the feedback is positive and 70% is negative, making the negative feedback count more than the positives. I don't know the exact calculation method used here, but that's how you get minus % feedback. |

This is explained in the FAQ section of this forum under the FEEDBACK topic. |

How is feedback calculated
Feedback is amount based.
example:
order1: $50 positive
order2: $100 negative
feedback score: -66.67%[/quote]
It was discussed somewhere in this forum back in July of 2008 which is why I got the answer and posted it in the FAQ section feedback topic. |

ok maybe i dumb or something but how you got -66.67% instead of -50 %.
well -100 - +50 = - 50% right ? |

Grandos if both purchases were worth $50 you would be correct but since one was worth twice as much as the other, a negative for that one would count more heavily.
Not sure why they do it this way except to deter people selling high $$ value items from scamming buyers. |

This whole thing is probably real simple but I'm just not getting it. Maybe if I see the "formula" written out it would help.
So 50% positive & 50% negative = -50%? I understand that half the total is negative. But it is also half positive.
So if 100% positive and 0% negative = +100% why wouldn't 50/50 = +50%.
The negative doesn't seem to make sense. I'd think the lowest your feedback could ever be is 0%.
Can someone write this formula out?? |

I'm the one who brought it up back in 2008 because it looked so odd but I never thought to look and see if it was in the FAQ's.
I don't know the formula or how it is calculated. Just looking at 2 sales, $50 positive and $100 negative, out of a total of $150 in sales, that means that 1/3 is positive and 2/3 is negative. 2/3 negative = -66.67%. That's one possibility, but just a guess.
Obviously negatives here are counted quite heavily and bad sellers are to be punished which is laudable. Another guess from me - this is why Ecrater is so helpful in removing unwarranted negatives if the seller can prove it, because they realize that a single negative can be so devastating and they don't want good sellers to suffer, which is also laudable.
Mathematically it's very weird but I believe it is with good intentions and attempting to keep sellers honest. If we were voting, I would say ditch the feedback totally. But that's for another discussion! |
