Can anyone tell me what type of dish this is called?
I have a few dishes like this with one handle and my hubby says there is a name for them but I dont know how to search for it

Handled pouring dish plate . I looked on E and they are just called "handled dish".

Sorry to resurrect an old post, but I ran across the name for these kinds of dishes with handles: nappy!

Often refers to glass items, or items with real handles, but I saw quite a few dishes called "nappy dish" that looked like what we have. Interesting site for info:

The two examples posted by thecookieladycafe look like candy dishes, which, if any one is old enough to remember when chocolates and mints were passed to guests after dinner, always had little handles.

The example posted by the OP looked more like it was meant for pouring but way too shallow to be safe for a sauce.

Thanks for all your comments and research.
I asked this same question on another board and they came up with "nappy" too so I researched it myself and I am not "nappy happy"...lol
All of the dishes and bowls that came up were different from mine other than they had a handle but even the handles tended to be upright. I also think it is definitely too shallow to actually be functional unless it was used for drips or spills?
It is a really pretty dish and I am starting to think it may be purely decorative but if anyone can say otherwise then that would be great also.
I am keeping it for now.

Your dish is a porcelain nappy. It does not have to be a bowl to be a nappy. It appears that it may be handpainted porcelain.
