Phishing Emails

We have received a couple of messages from customers stating that they have received an email reportedly from our business and that the Google Checkout wire transfer was cancelled....etc.

This is a phishing email for sure and of course didn't come from us.....but it's very frustrating that our business name is being used.....and the last email even included the customer's Google Checkout transaction number......has anyone else experienced this? Any known breaches involving Google Checkout or eCrater?

It's a scam of some sort. Google doesn't do wire transfers. Don't respond or click on any links in the email.

That's what I've been telling them, but it's still so frustrating that your business name is used in a phishing scan.....I've also been advising them to run some sort of spyware/malware detector on their computer.

If you sell on line your names gets caught in phishing scams. Not much you can do about it. Who are you communicating with? Google or the scammer?

Don't respond to anyone who sends these kinds of emails!

The customer notified me on the email that was supposedly from us......I've tried to contact Google just to pass it on, but it's very difficult to find an actual contact for something like this.....haven't heard from them yet.....and I've contacted eCrater since it was an eCrater sale.
