Occasionally when I go to my ecrater store home page I get the following pop-up message: "A script on this page is causing Internet Explorer to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer might become unresponsive." How do I correct this issue? |

This is actually very common and nothing to worry about. Generally speaking it's a function if Internet Explorer. When Internet Explorer runs more than 5 million lines of script, you will get this error. If you continue on, the counter is reset and after another 5 million lines of script, you will start to see the error again. Also if going to a particular page like your store home page seems to cause this, there are situations when a web page contains script (it could just be your Google Analytics' Javascript) that takes an unusually long time to run could trigger this.
Since it is really not a problem per se, my advice would be to simply disable script debugging and you shouldn't see it. This is the quickest way to do it.
Open Internet Explorer.
On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
In the Internet Options dialog box, click the Advanced tab (the tab on the far right)
Look down the menu tree for "Browsing"
Place a check in the box at "Disable script debugging (Internet Explorer)"
If there is a check in the box at "Display a notification about every script error" remove the check.
Click OK on the bottom of the dialog box |
