backstory - I'm looking for some kitchen gadgets. made by a particular company. I found a small number of hits on eCrater.
All the hits appear to be from a seller, that has 5,000+ listings sitting in a 'my ebay' category, with no other categories created. The seller has not filled in the about, terms, contact, or FAQ entries. The only payment type they accept is COD (although the body text implies PayPal & merchant card acceptance). The store home page graphics are the defaults. No FB as yet.
In other words, they imported from ebay and did nothing else (that I can see).
I sent a contact to them, let's see what kind of answer I get.

I've never used the importer. Are the instructions on how to do it including what to do after? |

Wonder if the 'seller' is sitting back wondering why nothing has sold yet on ecrater. When was the last time they did anything in the store? |

July 9th, 2012. So the store is either new, or they are in there (somewhere) tinkering around. I'd think that appropriate payment types would be the first thing they should do (either before or after importing).
One other observation, the vast majority of the images imported appear to be stock images from the manufacturer(s). |

The seller has yet to respond, after 14 hours, but I'm patient.

I looked at the long body text on a listing. In it I noticed various mentions of 'eCRATER' and that got me to thinking. So I went and tracked down the original listing for that item on big-E. It appears that any mention of the big-E gets auto-replaced with 'eCRATER' as part of the import. The replacement also changed their email address (which contained the big-E as the mailbox) to one containing 'eCRATER'. A side effect, but one that the seller better watch out for.
As they have yet to configure to accept any electronic payment, I doubt they are getting a feed (to anywhere). They are getting the AdSense ad-slug near the bottom of the page. |

I'm guessing they did a global change to get it to say Ecrater instead of eBay
If it states they accept merchant card payments they might end up suspend soon as that is not a supported payment option. |

This is what it says ...
Quote: | We accept the following methods of payment:PayPalVisaDiscoverAmerican ExpressTo pay with a credit card after you have completed checkout on eCRATER please contact us at 1-800-525-5556 |
If that was auto-imported from eBay, I wonder how they got away with it over there. Seems like they are using eCRATER for an advertising board (and don't care if the orders actually happen here). Without activating an electronic payment form, they will never get any feedback here. |

4 days later, and still no reply to my ASAQ. Not a great way to open a new store here.
The seller is http://bakedeco.ecrater.com/ |

I was looking for beads here, eCRATER, a few months ago. The store wasn't complete so I sent a asaq message. I asked if the store was open because it didn't look like it, with all the blank pages. It took 3 weeks before I received a once sentence reply, "What do you mean?" I choose not to deal with them. Why even set up a store if you aren't going to the work to make it successful? |

Sure isn't. 30-40 lines of impenetrable boilerplate per listing, no homepage, no text pages, no categories, no approved electronic payment methods, no communication with customers...not very attractive. They have a huge independent store website, plus 8000 items on eBay, so what are they gaining or hoping to gain from eCrater? |

I know this an old topic, but during a search for other topic found it.
It looks like the seller reappeared in September to look his/her store because he/she made an update. |

Five months to the day, still no reply. Tonight I was looking for a special kitchen knife. Guess which eCrater seller has it listed. |
