Hello,
I've just joined eCrater, and am starting to add a few products to my store. Still figuring it all out, but no major problems so far.
Just wanted to stop by and say hi.
Got any advice for a newbie ? |

Welcome Kickrox. We are always happy to give advice!
I did note in your terms this sentence:
Quote: | If there is something you want which is currently out of stock (or you wish to order a greater quantity than is currently stocked), |
ALL items for sale on ecrater has to be in stock. If it is sold out it will show as on hold until you replenish it. You can put a blurb in the listing that it is currently sold out and to contact you if they want the same thing, but it MUST have the item hidden. Of course the part about wanting more of an item that is currently for sale, is fine to mention.
Quote: | Any custom made items will need to be fully paid for before work on them will commence, or before any non stocked supplies will be ordered. You will be informed via email of an estimated despatch date for custom orders.
|
Ecrater is set up for instant payments, so all orders should naturely be paid for in full. However if they do buy something that will be customized you should let them know immediately how long before the item ships as you mention. So many sellers get used to ebay and buyers taking forever to pay, it is a breath of fresh air to not have to chase down buyers who don't pay. Usually I've found that if someone doesn't pay within a few hours they aren't going to. There are many threads here on what to do if you get an order without payment.
Do you make the jewelry yourself? If so you should say so and even perhaps what inspired it on special pieces.
Good Luck. Ecrater can be a great place to sell. |

Thanks for the advice.
Yes, I do make the jewellery. I'll probably flesh out the descriptions a bit once I've got to grips with everything
Still wondering the best way to go about listing different sizes for things. Normally I offer a variety of chain lengths for necklaces, or different sizes for the bracelets.. but there doesn't seem to be an obvious way of offering variations on an item.
Would you know the best way to go about that?
Thanks |

Yes, use sepearate lisitng pages. It helps you have more presence on line and keeps you from having rounds of email correspondence before something is shipped and that is a waste of your time. |

Welcome. Yes, use separate listings for each size and color variation. Most buyers will skip over buying an item if they can't just click buy now or add to cart, and be done with it. In this day and age, online buyers want thing done fast and conveniently but sometimes a little too fast, so fast that if they have to take an extra minute to email you & say I want an 18" chain, they just won't order from you. So separate listings makes it easier for buyers pressed for time & gives your more chances to get seen because you'll have more items listed.
Good luck. Your jewelry is nice. Minimal yet classy which will attract those that don't like big bulky or overly flashy jewelry. |

It’s the Central Province in Sri Lanka. (Nice place. Been there.) |
