|
|
I HAVE RECEIVED A FEW OF THESE TYPES OF ORDERS.
EVERYTHING LOOKS GREAT AND WHEN I GO TO EMAIL THE CUSTOMER WITH AN INVOICE AND INSTRUCTIONS OF PAYMENT THE EMAIL ADDY IS NOT A REAL ADDRESS.
IS THIS A SCAM A SPAM OR AN ERROR????
I, OF COURSE, DO NOT MAIL OUT THE PACKAGES AND AM GETTING CONCERNED AS THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED IN THE PAST FEW WEEKS.
THEY ARE USING DIFFERENT FIRST AND LAST NAMES AND WEIRD TYPE ADDRESSES AS YOU CAN SEE FROM BELOW.
Ship To: mark white
rouse avenue, new york, Arkansas 74855
United States
Email: dfd@gmail.com
IP Address: 14.140.223.61
THE EMAILS ARE USUALLY THE SAME - WHICH IS WHAT CAUGHT MY EYE. IT IS RATHER SHORT.
I AM WONDERING IF THIS IS HAPPENING TO ANYONE ELSE???
JUST CURIOUS AND WOULD REALLLLLLLY LIKE IT TO STOP! |

First I would ask, why are you mailing them an invoice? Ecrater is set up to have the buyer pay immediately without an invoice. Next, were these 'orders' paid for? If not, they aren't an order. You can't block a 'buyer' so all you have to do is ignore them. I suspect we have all gotten 'orders' that weren't paid for with nonsense addresses. I think it is just people wanting to see how much the total is and how easy it is to check out. If it is always the same person for you, as soon as you see it, just skip it and go on to the next thing on your to do list. |

It looks like, based on your feedback dates, that you are a long time seller here. If choose to only accept electronic payments (PayPal Express & Stripe) then you will never receive a bogus order. If you accept PayPal classic/standard plus those manual payment methods, there is nothing you can do about these (other than ignore them). |

Do you get orders that are actually paid for by check or money order? If not I'd remove those options from your payment choices. They are a royal pain in the a$$.
You should not be getting nonsense addresses from digital payments or else the processors are not doing their jobs. |

eCrater Math 101
Formulas to remember:
1) Only an Order = Only an Order = Not to worry = Contact/Send Invoice
2) Payment = Receive Money
3) Successful/complete sale = Order + Payment
PD
You aren't new in the Internet. Please avoid using all caps when writing. Thanks. |

I recently got an order from the same person named Mark White and it turned out to be fake. My question is, do I just delete it and does e-crater know that its fake so they don't charge me a marketplace fee or do I need to contact them and tell them this was a fake order? The payment said it was through Paypal but was not paid. Thanks for any advice on this matter you can give. |

No money, no fee, no green checkmark paid, ? no fee. delete order.
Check paypal to be sure, but otherwise delete the order... if you want. |

Ecrater can tell if you got paid or not via PP or Stripe and if you didn't then you won't get charged a fee. The only time I write to them is if I do a refund and they usually know that as well. So for you nothing to worry about. |

Thank you so much guys for responding back to my question! I have never had that happen before so wasn't sure how to handle that. I did check my paypal and there was nothing in there or pending. Thanks again guys! |

|

Receiving orders (none paid) with nonsense addresses.
All coming from an IP address located in India.
Do "buyers" receive my email address, just by placing an order, like
I receive theirs?
Do they receive my IP address also?
Is it part of some phishing scam? |
