Collectible Papers New Store on Ecrater

Hello,

I opened a new store on Ecrater (I love the ecrater website) http://collectiblepapers.ecrater.com

My site is old papers such as receipts, billheads, letters, post cards, etc.. I am also listing information on the items that will assist genealogy researchers.

It will take me some time to get through all my collection, but I will eventually get it through it (I estimate my collection to be 10,000 pieces of ephemera)

I offer free shipping and look forward to any helpful advice from fellow ecrater sellers.

I am a retired grandma and love gardening and spending time with my grandkids.

Welcome! It will take a long time to list 10,000 items. I had to start over from scratch because I lost my inventory in a fire last year, so I can say from personal experience, listing inventory starting from zilch, it will probably take you 3 or 4 years of constant listings to get that many items listed here. It took me 5 months to get just over 500 items listed. Nice little niche shop you have, there is a special audience of people that old ephemera like this really appeals to. My mom always said, why the heck would someone want an old photograph of someone else'e family? But people use them to make art collages, handmade cards, etc. Good luck.

You have the kind of store that invites browsing. Good luck. I'm curious how you determine the price of old photos that aren't of famous people or places. I have a ton of them I've never listed.

I am humbled by the kindness of all who have posted here. Thank you for making me feel so welcome : )

As far as pricing the photos, I just list what I feel is fair and acceptable to buyers without it costing me. Most of the items I am listing right now are at prices I bought them at. I am not into it for a profit yet, I feel I need to get a little more established first. : )

This is a little hobby for me and meeting new people who are so kind is priceless : )

Oh, your store is so great! I love the letterhead from the corset company with the hoop skirts.

I collect old sewing buttons and anything connected with them...so I will definitely be back.

Okay I can see them now. We have been having our fill of grief with our computer this week and I'm sure that is what the trouble was. I haven't even been able to get on Pinterest most of the time! (think withdrawal an no promoting, ARGGH!)

Yes Welcome, and let me tell as one who has been trying to reach the magic goal of 10,000 items listed here, that takes a lot of work. I've been working at it since 2008 and still generally wobble aroun 8000, but then I am also selling. I would hate to have 10000 items listed with no sales
