Using the Flat Rate in shipping -

Hi, I just got back from a trip and am listing goodies I found along my travels.. At the bottom of the item listing, I choose: Flat Rate shipping which wants you to enter shipping price for 1 item, then the extra shipping for Each Additional Items..

I chose $2.89 for first item, then $2 in the additional item 'box' - then I get this message across the screen in red.

The shipping rates must be positive numbers with maximum two digits after the decimal point

I feel like 2.89 and 2.00 fit in those rules.

Anyone know what the issue is? Thanks!

Hi Cindy! I noticed your post and thought I'd let you know that this happened to me recently. I went back and changed both sides to zero, then re-typed in the figures again. I saved, and all was ok. I was under the impression that I had some hidden character typed, but never really knew what I did wrong. I just went to one of my items, and changed the amounts to match the amounts you entered, and all was ok when I saved.

You probably did this, but did you try to go back and re-enter, and/or change the amounts back to zero and re-enter?

I'd had this happen once before, and after playing with it for a while, I too was not sure what I'd done to correct it, since it really didn't look like anything was wrong in the first place.

I changed everything to $1 shipping, in every box, and updated.
It made the error message go away. Then I went back to 2.89 and 2.00 and hit Update, and again, everything was fine.

Just a space worm I guess.
