I'm sure this has been asked a thousand times, so I apologize in advance.
I sold a candle and the customer just emailed her dissatisfaction that it was USED, not new.

It was priced as free shipping. I emailed her immediately I would give a full refund once she returned.

How exactly do I explain to her how to go about returning it to me?
Does she buy postage? From what source? USPS? On Paypal? I used a USPS flat rate envelope ~6.50. Or is she free to return however she likes as long as it can be tracked?

I'd like to be helpful although her story is not very believable. If the glass were broken, I'd ask for a picture and just refund or replace. Customers are funny, instead of telling me the problem, she threatened me with false advertising. yada yada
