Confused Newbie here trying to finish setup on my store and I have received an email from Google with the following information :
As outlined in our program policies, you must ensure Google Checkout buttons or Buy Now buttons are available on your website before any registration or sign-in pages. Because it appears your website doesn't meet this policy requirement, your Google Checkout badges have been suspended. In addition, if your website continues not to meet this requirement, you may not be eligible to process transactions through Google Checkout any longer.

Has anyone else received this type of email? Can one of you experts in webpages take a look at my store and tell me what the issue is? I thought I had the buttons showing just like everyone else! I'm obviously not a computer programmer and this is becoming very frustrating to me!! I don't particularly want a "Buy Now" button because most of my buyers purchase multiple items at one time and I would prefer they go into a shopping cart so that multiple item shipping can be applied to save them some $$$$.

I have been reading all the posts regarding Google Checkout and didn't see anything addressing this issue, but if there is one, please accept my apologies for duplication.

Thanks so much for all of your support in this ever challenging process!!

Do you have to be in the USA to use google check out? As when I went to sign up it only states the USA.

After so many requests from sellers, the support for Google Checkout (aka gbuy) has just been added.

Be careful when you copy/paste your merchant id and merchant key into the eCRATER admin interface. These values must exactly match the ones provided from Google.

To find these values:

Sign in to your account at

https://checkout.google.com/sell

Click Settings, then Integration Center. Your 10- or 15-digit Merchant ID is listed in the Merchant ID for API field. Your Merchant Key, which is the 22-character string labeled Merchant Key, just below the Merchant ID.

I have been suspended from Google due to no buttons being present, as their guidelines say. This is my email.

Thank you for your email. We want to help you implement the necessary
changes to be in compliance with our policies. Please note that merchant
key validation does not affect the Google Checkout Button being displayed.

The page that you directed us to
http://silvermoonxtreme.ecrater.com/product.php?pid=355378, is displaying
the Google Checkout Acceptance Logo not the Google Checkout Button. I have
attached the Google Checkout Acceptance Logo for your reference to
differentiate it between the Checkout Button.
Your site can be approved once we find the Google Checkout Button
appropriately displayed.

Please visit https://checkout.google.com/seller/checkout_buttons.html for
information on usage and a summary of acceptable Google Checkout Buttons.

For information about Google Checkout badges, please visit
http://checkout.google.com/support/sell/bin/answer.py?answer=37897.

Please feel free to reply directly to this email if you have any
additional questions.

Beware, I dont think Google will be accepted here long. Crying or Very sad

eCRATER is perfectly compliant with the Google Checkout policy. In fact we have been working very close with their team.

Your problem is due to invalid combination of merchant id and key. This results in not showing the Google Checkout button. The button is what they expect to see when they check your web store.

Please refrain from making silly comments in your posts.

I fully understand what you are saying. I told them already at Google about what you have stated. They said the merchant key is invalid because the account is suspended at this time. I forwarded your comment to them and this was their responce.

Thank you for your email. It appears that the merchant ID and the merchant
key are unique to your relationship with Ecrater. Please contact Ecrater
for steps on entering the correct merchant ID and merchant key in order to
update your Google Checkout Buttons.

Please feel free to reply directly to this email if you have any
additional questions.

Sincerely,

Esther
The Google Checkout Team

The Merchant ID and key are exactly as posted in my Google account, I have triple checked that.

So this is a catch 22 situation with me, as long as I remain suspended, the merchant ID and Key remain invalid so the button will not show, but to get reinstated I need to show the button.

I believe the Google rep mistakenly suspended the account when she couldnt locate the button for whatever reason, and is not understanding why I cant get compliant now.

I am sorry about the silly comment, I thought about it after posting it, but there is no edit feature.

I am looking for some help with this and Google isnt understanding the problem.
Thanks

nonsport - Google Checkout is asking for your Social Security # to sign up.
I don't think you can give them a fake SS# because they are using it to verify that you are who you say you are.

For now, I guess I wil do without Google Checkout.

You can use a different #. All I'm waiting for is to confirm a small deposit to my bank account. Very Happy

Just wanted to update the SS# issue . . .

I was able to verify my bank account and get the merchant# and key without adding a SS# - I just skipped that part and everything still seems to be in order Wink

I wasn't able to skip it.

I've successfully added the Google Checkout Button to my site and it was very easy to do. Thank you ECrater for the step by step instructions. I am concerned about one thing ... I can not seem to add the required sales tax for the states of California and Arazona. Any suggestions on how I can complete this process? If you are wondering why I need to add sales tax I do have a TIN and Retail Sales Certificate issued from my home state.

I just finished confirming everything with Google Checkout, and put in my Merchant Key & ID#'s along with the API callback URL ~ and I'm wondering how long it takes for the Google button to appear in my store, and where... Payment Options?

Thanks! Cher
