|
|
Hello. Does anyone know what the turn around time is on suspended accounts. My store is still up but I can't quiry the items in my store and find them via the search tool on the eCRATER homepage. The account was axed out of no where with no email describing why. I like the eCRATER idea and google check out sounds great, but if accounts are suspended out of no where with no reason noted then I'm not quite sure if the other high points really make this an overall positive experience. I now have a neutral opinion of the marketplace. I hope this issue resolves itself. I've typed to eCRATER as of 24+hrs ago. We'll see how it goes. I'm a licensed business in California. All eCRATER needs to do is say the word and I'll send all my docs to them. Anyhow, I wanted to inform people of my eCRATER experience thus far. |

There were a lot of electronics and technology stores listed in the antiques category. Were you one of them? |

I just checked your store which shows 1 Nokia phone available for sale. Then I checked the antique category. Two Nokia phones there but yours is not one of them. You still should check your global categories if you got a suspension warning. Maybe you have it listed in shoes or computers. |

I just checked my "Global Category". The phone is listed under "Consumer Electronics..Telephones..Cell Phones".
Just a note, I did not receive an official suspension warning. I just figured that I was suspended because when I typed E90 in the search bar my phone wouldn't pop up but another company's would. The search worked for the first 24hours that I created the listing and then it stopped.
I'll try adding a couple more items and see what happens there. |

Put some Categories on your Front Page!!!! Add more than just a couple more to increase your odds of being indexed in Google.
Forget about the eCRATER Search, optimize for Google search. |

Thanks! I think I was screwing up the categories. I looked at a couple other stores and it looks like their categories consist of the different manufacturers. I'll definitely add more categories later today. Making a listing was a bit of a pain because of spacing / paragraph issues when copying what I had typed up in word to eCRATER's description section. Anyhow, that's for the tip. I'll follow up on it. |

Ecrater's search engine doesn't react well to searchs with numbers in them. That's why you need to have a lot of info in your title. Nokia camera cellphone with a few more features and the style number. |

Thanks for the info. The notepad really helps with listing info!
I'm going to stop complaining about this. And I'm going to stop building my store until this issue is resolved. It's an eCRATER issue. I haven't solved the problem but I can say that there are 9 or 10 other sellers who are not being recognized who also sell the Nokia E90. I discovered this by doing an advanced search. I looked under Consumer Elec. ... phones...cell phones... and typed E90 as the keyword. Voila. My store is there and 10 other sellers are there as well. All of us except for one seller are invisible to everyone who types E90 in the search bar without doing an advanced search. No more adding to my store until this is fixed. We're not being represented equally. I understand that sellers who pay will be listed on top, but what about the rest of us? Aren't we at least listed below somewhere....no. Not without doing a tedious advanced search. Sigh. Thanks for all your help ladies and gents. I'm taking a break from all this for now. Wish I could help eCRATER...they're just down the road. |

You use a drop shipper - I suggest you read the terms
You items will always come up last in a search.
At one time the search did not include anything less then 4 characters.
I believe it's still that way... UNLESS you submitted your 3 letter word or combination and reason why it needed to be added.
This item shows up this out an issue

Here is eCRATERS response. I knew something was weird. It was assumed that I used a drop shipper. I do not use a drop shipper. I risk my cash to depreciation and low consumer demand to actually have products on hand or easily accessible from a NON-dropshipping source. This source is the USA distributor where all other retailers buy the same products for resale in their stores. The company I order from does NOT allow drop shipping! When I order from them it's a done deal. NO returns! So if I physically have a $1000 item in inventory just sitting there and not selling, then I'm biting the bullet as depreciation and lessening consumer demand take effect. Drop shipping is CAKE (the affiliate puts forth zero assets and gets paid when an item sells). I take the non-cake route. I put forth 100% the cost to buy the item. I then have to find buyers or eat the cost when new technology emerges and the price of my item plummets to where I make no profit. I would appreciate it if I could get my search spot back. If I really wanted to become an affiliate I would not have gone to City Hall, the County Records or the local Board of Equalization to establish myself as a small business. I'm looking for a serious online venue to resell my products on.
Suggestions: There should be a backorder option. In addition, looking at some of the sellers, there are blatant copies being offered for sale. This does not leave me with a good feeling. I wonder if eCRATER needs help regulating sellers who offer counterfeit / copy / non original items. That would actually be a great position to help with.

Hello,
Your store is active, but it is marked as affiliate.
From our terms:
"..All products from affiliate websites will not be included in searches
in the main eCRATER marketplace and will appear at the bottom of the
respective
categories. Affiliate website is a website provided with products, images
and texts from another company to sell their products. Dropshippers and
distributors are considered as affiliate too."
You can find more about shipping and shipping matrix here:

Sincerely,
The eCRATER Team

What I wrote back....

Thanks for the response.
#1: I do not dropship. When an order comes in I either have the item in
stock or I have to order and have it sent to my address and then to the
address of my clients. This is the same exact process as a retail store or
online store that carries inventory, but at times runs out and has to
backorder. This is not dropshipping. The company I purchase my merchandise
from does NOT allow dropshipping.
#2: I'm a reseller/retailer NOT a distributor. I buy and sell just like
the big retailers (Best Buy, Frys etc) only on a smaller scale. A
distributor receives stock straight from the actual manufacturer. I don't.
I buy stock from a distributor and resell it.
#3. Regarding the pictures, I can easily take actual pictures if that will
resolve the problem.
I'm attaching my business lic and sellers permit.
Thanks,
Emmanuel (minus my last name)
