Thanks, Dorothy. I'd been wondering about that for a little while but hadn't gotten around to Googling it. Thanks for the link! |

Now I really wonder if Google Analytics really work: I've had many hits since I added that feature and the report of only 1 new visitor
Same for another store, many hits but NO new visits at all according to Google |

I'm not really certain if Analytics works the same as the eCrater hit counter. Hits show up in our admin here any time the page was called -- that apparently includes when an item shows in the "Featured Item" spot (every refresh is a new hit for whatever item is being called). I think it might also include any time items come up in results at Google Products (meaning they don't have to actually be clicked on, just show up). In other words, there's a "hit" to the item page even if nobody actually visited the page itself.
At least I think that's right. And if it is that's why the results differ. I think Google Analytics deals strictly with genuine visits to our stores and their individual pages. |

That's the impression that I am getting also. And it's cool to go see who is looking at your site and where they are coming from. Yesterday I had someone in Singapore look at my Tressables! I really like the info, even if just to satisfy my own curiosity. |

I'm really sorry to ask such a silly question but I'm going to anyway. I went into sign up for this analytics feature but the google site asks for me to put in my google account. Since I am a Canadian seller I do not have google check out as an option. Does that mean I cannot access the analytics option too?
Thanks for your help!

Hi Vickie - I believe all you need to do to get a google account is sign up for a google email account. I know it has nothing to do with google checkout, because I don't have that, I just have a google email account. |

Bounce rate refers to people landing on your site and then immediately clicking away from your site.

Your probably getting many repeat visits from someone who has already been on your site before. Did you set it up so that it will not record when you are visiting? You can tell it not to record your own IP address. |

It has no caps in it. This could be the difference of how google sees it, give it a try, can't hurt.
