I am looking into creating a web site so I can generate more traffic and sales, but I'm wondering if anyone has any good/bad experiences with any particular hosting companies? |

I personally love GODADDY.com
mainly because they are there to help me 24/7. A live real knowledgable person! Even when I call at 3 in the morning! |

GoDaddy is good, and I'll also recommend LunarPages at:
http://www.lunarpages.com/
LunarPages has a wonderful history with us, and over the last year, haven't had even a hiccup that we've noticed. They have an awesome CPanel backend with loads of add-on scripts and programs, and offer a complete developer program package (for free) with hosting sign up. Customer service personnel are true technicians that don't use/need "flip books".
Do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT host at Globat. If you want to hear my rant about them, PM me...but I warn you, it won't be pretty.

I'm moving over to networksolutions.com. You can either build a site the traditional way - ftp your pages and files - or use their ImageCafe builder. Great builder, easy to use. I like the convenience of being able to use an online site builder but still can get to my root directories and stuff.
All of the above-mentioned are reputable companies, too.
Stay away from CityMax. Sloooowwwwwww loading sitebuilder that make slowwwwww loading webpages. Watch out for their resellers, too - anyone who offers WebsiteDynamics is a Citymax reseller. |

I've had a good experience with GoDaddy over the past several years. |

So do you guys just reroute your domain to your eCrater page or do you just have a website that is separate from eCrater? |

I was an advocate of webmasters.com purely and simply because of the customer support...sadly they went down in my estimation recently so I moved to godaddy.
As a host I cant fault them...
I have a stand alone wesbite also...I have no input to give regarding godaddy's website builder as I build mine myself.
Godaddy has yet to disappoint me.
good luck

Here's the best promo code out there for Dreamhost:
http://www.dreamhost.com/hosting.html
use promo code: DREAMHOSTFIFTY
gives you $50 off the happy hosting package.
free domain name
500 GB storage
5TB bandwidth!
host unlimited domains
one click zen cart install, etc
and their storage goes up 2GB/week and bandwith goes up 40GB/week every week too....I love these guys....no problems here.
Any additional domain names I just buy from godaddy and point the DNS to my dreamhost hosting since they host as many domains as I own at no additional charge! (there's promo codes out there for a couple bucks off a domainname, google "godaddy promo code" and you'll find one) |

^edited the above message, the maximum dreamhost coupon/promo code discount got dropped to $50. Still worth it IMO though since they raised the storage and bandwidth. |
