The following type of listings are not allowed

Listings that do not sell any product
or listings that you have to buy something else first

Listing for items that are not for sale

Listing for upgrades, postage, insurance etc

Listings for upgrades to another product.

For example -
If you sell jewelry you CAN NOT sell an upgrade for a different back on an earring because that listing is not really something soemone can buy without buying something else first.

You can not list priority mail as a service!
You can not list package insurance!

Those are just a couple of things I happened to run across today when searching for something.

These type of items will be deleted and you will not be notified!

Any questions? (I know I didn't explain this very well, lol)

Do you mean what is said in the item description?
My terms state that insurance is optional and can be requested at check out. I don't have anything like it in the ads themselves.

I mean you can not have a SEPERATE listing for insurance.

How can they request it at checkout? that's not even possible.

Thank, BT

I thought maybe customers could request insurance in the notes section when checking out. But now I am not to sure about offering insurance so I took it out for now.

By law, it's the sellers responsiblity to get the product as described to the consumer. So it don't matter if they pay you extra for insurance or not. Internet stores have to follow the same laws as mail order houses.

Putting it in a note isn't going to get it in their total so they won't be paying for it. That's why I don't see how that really helps.

I saw in another thread that after a purchase is made that we can keep the item listed until after we feel the customer has rec'd that purchase but mark the item sold in the listing. Technically the item is not for sale any longer but being left up so the customer can view the item again if needed. Is this still allowed or should I put the item on hold?? Angie

THIS IS THE ONE EXCEPTION
You are allowed to but a SOLD image as default for up to 2 weeks. THen it needs to be hidden or deleted.
We asked for this so that they consumer had a way to see the listing after they received the item.

I have access to quantities of mint postage stamps with little philatelic value.

Since they are valid for postage, can they be sold here?

The listing would read something like :

$52 face value mint Canadian stamps. Shipping and GST included. Valid for postage in Canada. Mixed packets of same value stamps.
Example lot: 100 x .07 + 100 x .55. Makes 100 First Class rates.
Cheaper than the post office at only $4X.99!

As you can see, these would only be made available in Canada. (Please do not email me to buy these, I am just working on the deal)

Any problem that each lot sent could be made up of different face values? (My example would never happen since 7 c and 55 c Canadian stamps are hard to come by - 42s and 10s maybe or 38s and 14s)

Can you explain what "bumping up" is. I don't know what that means. Thanks, Grace
