Hello all,
I'm new here, and trying to figure out how to offer shipping discounts for multiple purchases.
I want to charge a flat rate for shipping on the first item and then offer free or discounted shipping if the customer purchases multiple items on the same order.
Can I do this on eCrater?
Thanks in advance! |

The matrix does not support it at this time.
I encourage all to make suggestion for this as I have already done in the suggestion forum. You can offer it in the listing and then send a new invoice at the end..little confusing, but no other option at this time. |

I was just looking at the Matrix and wondering, if I wanted to offer free shipping for additional items, could I just set my basic shipping fee in the 1lb column, then leave the rest set to zero.
Wouldn't that ship any total weight for the cost of the first lb?
Thanks |

I've been trying to figure that out as well, so thank you for asking....I can stop trying!
Hopefully when someone buys more then one, they will wait to pay so I can send a new invoice with the shipping discount....Or a bigger hope would be that it doesn't discourage buyers from buying more then one. |

I just mention on my site in the terms about combining items to ship and that a discount will be taken after purchase....
Then after I box the items up and figure the actual shipping I refund the difference either through paypal or google - and if they are sending payment-you can give them the new total before they mail payment.
Hope that helps!

That sounds like it would work but it might just give them free shipping. I never set the matrix to 0 but you can try it yourself and do a test checkout. Do an order with multiple items from your store and see if the shipping comes out correctly. |

Actually, what you'd do is put your flat shipping rate in every field. That way, the shipping would be the same no matter how many items were in the cart. |

I have it listed that I offer shipping discounts. I let the customer know this by stating that when done shopping , just send me an email and I will invoice them from Pay Pal or Google, what ever they prefer to use. |
