I've noticed that in all my Product Descriptions, the QUOTE (") and (') marks, have been replaced with QUESTION (?) marks.

Can anyone explain why this is happening?

I have 6 stores, and will have to manually edit and change over 1,000 Product Descriptions.

Has anyone else noticed this in their Product Descriptions? Can Admin fix this?

Are you coping and pasting from WORD?
Word has a tendency to make that happen on some characters.

I know when I was with SpareDollar and they merged with InkFrog I had over 7000 listings that were all screwed up due to the character readings.

Yes, I copied all of them from Word docs, over the last year.

However, this didn't start happening until very recently, like in the last month.

You might want to contact ecrater.com by going to www.ecrater.com and clicking on contact.
Probably has something to do with the behind the scenes changes.
The new changes can't read Words (microsoft product) unusal characters.

Yeah, this is a recent problem. I reported it one day and was told that it was fixed but I've still been noticing it happen -- intermittently, I think.

You're right that it's happening intermittedly.

Not all of my listings were affected, but most were.

And what's really weird, is that within a listing, some of the data is affected, but the rest of the data is unaffected. Weird, huh?

It seems like a hit and miss type of bug in the software.


Today, I've been editing and fixing the affected listings in all of my eCrater stores. Probably won't finish for another day or two.

Oh well, got to get back to work. I think I'll Whistle While I Work, and maybe it will go faster! Wink Laughing
