I have a limited amount of time to work at this at the moment... Do you stock your store first and then work on promoting or the other way around ? I'm kind of doing both at the same time but it's not efficient.
I think I should stock first but I really, really want a sale LOL
I think I'm answering my own questions but how did you do things ? |

Stock First.
No point in promoting a store for your visitors to find there is nothing or very little to look at.
Good Luck with the store. |

Welcome to ecrater.
I would stock first and try to maybe promote once or twice a week til store is stocked. It doesn't take too long to leave a link somewhere or submit to search engines. |

Stock first with a reasonable number of items in your featured categories.
And at least a couple in the other categories - so none come up with 0 items. Remember, you can add categories to your store at any time so if you aren't quite ready to list items in all categories, you might not want to show them at all.
Then promote and stock at the same time. |

Just as I thought....stock first I did get at least one of my customers to come over and look at eCrater. I guess I'll make a schedule for the week and try to stick to it LOL Things don't always go as planned with a 2 year old around though
Good luck to all of you too ! I'm finding so many interesting stores here. My favorites list will be filled to the brim. |

I keep my stores on hold until I stock with at least a dozen items....
& have all my "text" areas filled in & front page looking like I want. Then I take it off hold & do a bunch of promoting. Then add new items every few days..... & promote a bit more with links...forums etc.
Even if you just sit once a week & do those 2 things. When you add new things, searches seem to "like you" |

You currently have 35 items in your store.
That's plenty to start with.
Get your URL submitted to at least google, yahoo and msn
then try to add items and promote in at least one place
as often as you possible can. |

I did submit to Google and I think I did MSN. It seems items show up instantly in Google or very quickly anyway.
Thanks for all the opinions |

ITEMS show on google products - ecrater,.com does that submission
I am talking about Google website search - that you must submit to. |
