Hi all, just wanted to stop in and meet 'n greet. I sold a little on Ebay and decided to move on...so here I am. I just would like to get a few suggestions on my new site here and maybe some insider tips Thanks all!

Only suggestion I can think of is list more items. Otherwise, it looks pretty good from here. |

Welcome to ecrater.
Some suggestions: Put a banner at the top of your home page where you have the little mountain scene. Once people are in your store, that's how they know where they are.
In your textbooks titles, I'd give the names of the authors instead of the ISBN number although you might have room for both. Someone looking for a text by a particular writer might not know the ISBN. In the description I'd also include the year of publication and if this is a revised edition etc. Unless they are considered masterpieces in their field, textbooks are obsolete before the ink is dry.
Priority mail is a very expensive way to ship an old textbook. Media mail would be much more attractive to the buyer, then state in the description that they may upgrade to priority. But even if you want to go with priority, a flat rate box is less than you are charging. |

Nice Store.
Yes you need to list more stock and perhaps make two categories of the CDs and then you get another pic on your front page.
At ecrater sales all depend on how much you promote your store and will will need to get links to your store in as many groups and forums as you can.
Good Luck. |

Just the ones that flew here recently.
Prior to mid January rarely did anyone mention ebay on here - there is no need to.
Many of us still sell there. It's a great place to use for advertising. |

I can't afford the fees nor the scams...
Got stung twice as a buyer and once as a seller and CS is totally unavailable except online chat - which also can't do a lot in many case.
I leave the advertisement to Google
I discovered eCrater when I was looking for a cabbing machine. I found the best deal & service here and decided to open my own store after terrible experiences with ebay - looking for alternatives. I hope this place stays "for the people" and will not be bought by a major conglomerate to become monstrous....
Thanks.

|

Welcome Christina!
Good Looking Store, so far!
As time goes on, you might want to put more information on the Home page.
I just learned a technique today, which I will implement on my store too in the near future.
Use your FAQ section to make up and answer a lot of typical questions that buyers might want to know or that you might want buyers to know.
Then on your HOME page (under Welcome) instruct buyers to click on the FAQ section for more information.
Just a suggestion. I am going to try it out myself because I cannot fit all the information I want buyers to know on the home page itself.
Good Luck! |
