The Google Checkout risk attributes provide the seller with additional information about every Google Order that he/she gets.

These attributes are as follow:

  • buyer's IP address

  • eligible for protection - This is the most important attribute. It determines if Google Checkout will cover the transaction. if this is "yes" you can consider the order safe for you. This means that even if the buyer files a chargeback, Google Checkout will stand with its decision and you will keep the money. Google Checkout claims that 98% of all transactions are eligible for protection. Isn't this cool?

  • avs - This abbreviation stands for Address Verification System. The system checks the billing address of the credit card provided by the buyer with the address on file at the credit card company. Valid values are:
    :: Full match (address and postal code)
    :: Partial match (postal code only)
    :: Partial match (address only)
    :: no match
    :: not supported by issuer

  • cvs - This abbreviation stands for Card Security Code. It is sometimes called Card Verification Value (CVV). It is a 3- or 4-digit value printed on the card or the signature strip. Valid values are:
    :: match
    :: no match
    :: not available
    :: error

  • last 4 digit of the buyer's credit card

  • buyer's Google Checkout account in days.

As of March 20th 2008 eCRATER displays all of these attributes.
