|

It seems as buyers trying to purchase my plans are having problems paying as they buy or order several items of the same thing before they are able to pay. I may be loosing sales because of this so does anyone know why? Thanks in advance.

I just did an order - it says Testing all over it
This is the message that shows up from PayPal
Quote: | Unable to process payment. Please contact the merchant as the shipping address provided by the merchant is invalid, and the merchant has requested that your order must be shipped to that address.
|
It looks to me like it's caused by something in your paypal set up. Do you have it set to accept confirmed addresses only? |

Thanks so much for your help but I don't think that is the problem because I get payments all the time on ?bay from unconfirmed addresses with no problems. Also some listings are fine and others are not (to let you pay).

eCRATER order #242028 - is not a real order! It's me testing again!
INTERESTING
with my real info it works fine.
SO apparently, somewhere PayPal is verifing the name and address
BEFORE the payment is actually processes and if it don't match up they are putting out that error.
That error was from a PayPal URL not an ecrater one - that's how I know it's PP putting out the message. |

Thanks so What shall I do now? Where do I go to take a look at my "accept unconfirmed addresses" in Paypal to see what is going on?

Hopefully someone will come along that can answer that for you. I have no idea.
Personally, I would pick up the phone and call PayPal - but that's me.
If you need or want the URL of the error - just do an order and put in a screwy address and you most likely will end up at that same error. Then you will have the URL of the error message --- PayPal might want that, I don't know. |

I am having the same problem as OP. The same message is displayed.
"Unable to process payment. Please contact the merchant as the shipping address provided by the merchant is invalid, and the merchant has requested that your order must be shipped to that address. "
Not sure why that happens out of the blue. |

Sounds like that to me. How long has it been going on to those experiencing it? Could be why all my sales recently have been Google. |

i just discovered that they should place their address correctly without any additional, irrelevant spaces. and place space when needed.
like LasVegas will have an error and Las Vegas will be fine
Bakersfield , CA will have an error but Bakersfield, CA will be fine.
(notice the space place next to Bakersfield)
i believe paypal is checking if the shipping add is correct or acceptable at USPS. |

Yeah, PayPal verifies the address through USPS. Sometimes even something goofy like a period after an otherwise acceptable abbreviation is flagged as incorrect... |

Well this would be funny to me if I had my Google set up. I think if paypal is rejecting addresses (and it looks like they are because I have had 3 sales where people could not pay) then they deserve to lose the business. Guess I'm off to set up Google which I have been putting off. |

Actually, I should've said that PayPal verifies addresses when using their shipping tool and sometimes the goofiest things are considered incorrect.
I don't know that this kind of verification comes into play when they're just paying for items in a cart. It seems like I've heard of similar problems but I've never experienced it myself... |
