I have a big G on my list of items. It is Google attributes Title and have attribute name column and a Attribute value column. What are these columns and is there any cost to use these columns? I don't have any info
on this problem. Help and thank you. |

There is no cost. To learn about Google Attributes (which that button is for), please go to the links I provided in my post on the following thread:

Why are you trying to place an address for Attribute Name or Value?
Have you clicked on the link I gave you above and then clicked on the links in that post to read about Google Attributes?
What attribute is the 1.25 It (what is an It? is it short for italian lira?)?
I don't want to keep repeating the same things on posts over and over. That is why I tried to direct you to posts where you could read the anwsers.
OK so since that attempt appears to have failed.
A Google Attribute is a easy way to put keywords in an organized manner that the Google Product search can find and use when picking search results. The more and appropritely picked ones you have the better the chances of that product being found and hopefully bought.
All you need to do to add them to a product listing is:
1. Go to "Promote My Store" section on your admin page
2. Scroll down to heading 7 where there is a list of Attribute Names.
3. Select the names that would apply to your product.
4. Go to "Products"
5. Click on the "G" button
6. Under Attribute Name put the attribute name you got from the list in exact same shape (lower case, with _ instead of space, etc.)
7. Under Attribute Value (not necessarily a number. It could be a character string (meaning words)) that fits your item
8. click on "save & exit"
For example:
You have a coin dated 1888
you could add:
Attribute Name...........Attribute Value
year..........................1888
product_type..............Coin, Money
edition.......................Collectors
If you have more than one value to add you can put a comma after the first and leave single space after it then type the second.
Since you know your products better than anyone else, you'll be the one to choose the best set of Attributes.
There is no address attribute hence my confusion about that one. It is tought to tell what is causing the errors unless I can see that page or you tell me exactly where and how you put them.

Do we still use the old way? IE [!brand:Acme!] or do we just add BRAND in the first column and ACME in the second without the original format? TIA |

Hoodat you can do it either way. Both works.
If you wan to type it like [isbn:0123458766!], you can do it that way. After you save, if you click the "G" button you will find it automatically entered in the list.
Or you can go straight to the list with the "G" button and enter and after you save, you will see them entered at the bottom of the description.

Thanks. I was confused with this new format. It should be easier than before. Looks like Dimitri isn't done improving things. |

Yes it's definitely easier now to enter them. Especially since it can be done both ways.
And we still have the shipping calculator coming up. |
