What's a trade catalog? A trade catalog is a catalogue of wares issued by manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers. Some catalogs are in plentiful supply (Sears, Montgomery Ward, etc) - others are extremely scarce.

These catalogs are used for research purposes by authors and as identification and dating aides by antiques dealers. Collectors enjoy owning catalogues that depict items in their collections (many with their original prices!). And finally, there is a growing number of folks who look for old catalogs from businesses associated with their ancestors.
