Google Checkout waited 7 days to tell me a customer had an authorized payment. I have clicked on Charge the customer. At what point am I expected to ship? I'm still showing no payout.
Any experience appreciated. I've had to apologize to a customer I thought was going to be a NPB.

| I am signed up for GC too and have not used it yet. I wonder if this happens alot or was this a one time thing? Has anyone else had this problem? |

Unfortunately, I don't know but I hope somebody else does.
I'm holding off on Google for a bit, I think.. |

Doesn't cost a thing to sign up.
WorkmansWood...maybe you can email Google checkout and ask them or better yet do they have a forum? It would be mentioned there if this happens alot. |

I have had one customer use Google checkout to pay. I got no notice from Google or eCrater about the sale. I routinely check orders and saw it there.
I suggest that you check your eCrater orders regularly for this reason.
All went well with the one time my customer used Google to pay. I clicked on charge the amount, sent the item, and the money was deposited to my account in about 3 days.  |

YOU must have your google preferences set not to email you. ecrater.com does NOT send you the order if it's paid via google buys. |

On Google checkout in "Order processing preferences" what is the difference of the following?
When I receive a new order...
Automatically authorize the buyer's credit card for the full amount of the order.
or
Automatically authorize and charge the buyer's credit card.
I have it marked for the first one...only because it was already marked. |

The first one was checked on mine too. I changed to the second option because it charges their CC automatically.
On the other one it authorizes the charge but you have to manually tell them to charge the amount to the CC. At least that's the way my 1 Google transaction went!
Other than that, I don't know what the difference is. |

If you go into your google checkout settings you may need to check the option for ....Email me each time I receive an order, cancellation or other transaction
If I understand correctly the automatically authorize lets you determine if you can fill the order and if so you need to manually charge the cc.
The automatically authorize and charge assumes you can fill the order and then you ship etc

Forgot the other point about the fees...
this from the google checkout faq
http://checkout.google.com/support/sell
If you're not an AdWords advertiser, or if you've exceeded your free transaction processing amount for the month, you'll only be charged 2.0% plus $.20 per transaction. This fee is the same regardless of the buyer's payment type (Visa, MasterCard, etc.).
Fees will be deducted from your Google Checkout balance when you charge your order. If you refund an order, Google will return the variable portion of the transaction fee (2.0%) to you, but will retain the flat portion of the fee ($.20).
There are no setup or monthly account fees. |
