Personally I am very happy that Dimitri is listening to us and I appreciate the fact that he is doing what we ask. It is just not going to work for me as I already have everything fixed shipping and would have to go through every item to make sure the weight is right. I do have one store Lazy Cat Books and Videos that I think I will be able to use it on as most of them have the same weight and use the same method of shipping.
Dimitri we do appreciate you - I don't want you to think we don't. You have done so very much since I started selling here to improve this site. Keep up the great work.

I second periwinkle- all new systems encounter these things and I hear ya it can be frustrating when you have a business--
but I for one am so glad that this is a site who acts on suggestions.
Thank You!

Periwinkles, proimage and RustyFarmall:
I was able to reproduce and fixed the problem with the free shipping rate in Google Checkout. It affected both the merchants who activated and not activated the USPS shipping calculator.
Everything should be fine now. We apologize for the inconvenience. |

this is great. |
It would be better if the seller has the option to choose the shipping method for every item in their inventory.
Also as the item is displayed by potential buyers, have an input field to enter their zip code for a quick view of the item shipping costs.
Provide the buyer with item & shipping cost right at the beginning rather than have the buyer go through a purchase and back out because shipping is too high. |

Previously, I was using the shipping matrix. Did not have flat rate on anything.
If I understand correctly, the free shipping would have occured even if I had NOT turned on the calculator? |

Thanks Dimitri for adding the calculator.
I'm not sure I am getting how it works. For instance: If I am listing an item that only weighs 5 oz., but the listing page will only allow me to enter 1lb or more for the weight, isn't the buyer going to be charged postage on a 1lb item instead of 5oz?
I assume it knows when to use media mail as a shipping method when items are listed in books category?
And I am sure you are busy, and not that I don't appreciate the hard work you put in for all of us, but I liked NetAutoParts suggestions:

1 oz = (1/16) lb
5 oz = 0.3125 lb so you enter 0.3125 for the weight. |

UH OH...............................
It's not fixed yet. Just had a sale in one of my other stores and it gave free shipping.
Is it okay to cancel the order?
This was a clearance item and was only a couple bucks. It'll cost that much to ship it... LOL |

I emailed you through JewelryObsessed, as that's the store that had the sale, but I'll PM you now.
I just went ahead with the order. Would rather have a happy customer than worry about a few bucks.
Maybe she'll come back and spend more... |

What happens to my existing listings with flat rate (weight has to be listed as 0.00) if I turn on the shipping calculator?
I want to revise my existing listings to use calculated shipping, but, that will take time. I do not have Google checkout. |
