MOVED/CONTINUED FROM THE "LOUNGE" THREAD ~
Quote: | One thing I might suggest LJ, is that when you choose a layout, remember to keep it simple. This allows the page to load quickly and doesn't overshadow what you are selling with a lot of background stuff that can be confusing. |
Great advice, Glo I've gone to some friends' pages to leave a comment, and they've got so many animations and extra "goodies" on there, that I get trapped, and can't even get out til the page finishes loading... and I'm on DSL! So keep in mind that many who may view your page may have the same problem, especially those on dial-up.
I would also suggest that anyone who has a music player on their page, set it so that the view needs to hit "play" rather than have it start when the page opens... that uses tremendous resources, and makes the page take even longer to load.
Needless to say, once I've left a comment, I won't be likely to return again, unless I have oodles of time to waste waiting (which I don't)
AND, one more thing LJ ~ be very careful which sites you choose for layouts... I'd steer clear of any that require you to download anything, because it's not necessary (unless you want it)... I have a friend who did so, and she said it put desktop shortcuts and all sorts of stuff on her pc (and who knows what else), so she removed it and started over.
All you really need is a box of layout code to copy & paste into your Profile box...plus the simpler it is, the easier it will be for you to make a few changes. ~ Cher |

Hi!
Have my own myspace and am still figuring out how to do what on there to be honest.
My daughter knows more then I do. Still trying to figure out how to do the background and trying to figure out how to position pix and everything else. What a mess!
Any suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks! |

I had/still having the same problems as you are.
What I didn't realise that aswell as being able to edit the page from Myspace itself, there are lots of editors that are easy to use, that can do it for you.
I think they can be found buried inside this thread somewhere!!!!
Sorry but dont have time to be more specific at the moment!
Good Luck

Hi,
Got a mySpace page set up. Still working on it, but it will do as cheap advertising.
Please add me as a friend if you can.

How do I add those of you who have listed your URL's?
