|

Hello, today I received my first order from the UK and I noticed that there was no charge for shipping.
I offer free shipping within the U.S. but not Int'l. When I get Canadian orders the shipping shows up and they pay it so how can I make sure that this happens for all orders outside the us?
Thanks so much in advance! :0) |

Let me guess - in your listing you have FIXED PRICE SHIPPING selected.
If you read the ? to the right of that area you will read that fixed price shipping can not be used with international orders. ONLY the shipping matrix can.
I am guessing that is the problem because I too found out the hard way! And honored the order at zero shipping costing me a bit of money.
What I did to make sure it don't happen again
I went to the shipping area - where you select the countries you ship to and unchecked everything except US and Canada. In my listing I state that international buyers must email me for shipping charges. That seems to be working just fine. |

Hey bigtall! How are you? Ok I see what happened. I added that int'l shoppers need to email for shippig quote to the home page of my store. Do you think this will be enough? I really don't want to edit almost 800 listings. Do you have any other ideas? |

Hi Looking at your store items:
You have information in your FAQ saying email us for exact quotes for countries other than U.S. & Canada
Your item descriptions show there is a shipping charge to Canada
You say FREE Shipping within the U.S.!
With all this a buyer in England expects free shipping?
Perhaps she figured why not omit shipping and see what happens!
Could she be taking advantage of you?

NO ONE reads anything BUT the item page. - That's my opinion. Laws clearly state that signs must be clearly postage IN A PLACE they will be seen. They won't see them on your HOME PAGE if they shop www.ecrater.com because they won't ever be in YOUR store.
Same goes for all the text pages.
First - I suggest you turn off shipping zones for international countries - so that have no choice but to email you or not buy it - otherwise you take the risk of them ordering and that order showing ZERO for the shipping.

I find this doubtful since the buyer was looking at an item and we don't know if that was on ecrater.com or in the individual store. Buyers can NOT SEE any of the text pages if they are not in the individual store.
If I place an order and it comes up ZERO for shipping - I don't care what the listing says - that order tells me the shipping is FREE!
The real way to solve this issue is to use the shipping Matrix and not fixed shipping. |

BigTall.. I'm just a little confused. I use fixed price shipping. Is Canada considered international?
Example..
Shipping Fees:
US-Mainland: $1.00
Alaska: $1.00
Hawaii: $1.00
Canada: $1.00
If someone from Canada places an order will the shipping show up?... Tom |

If you put the amount in for Canada (that's the only international country fixed price shipping works for) then it will charge the amount you entered. |

Hi Everyone,
Happy Holidays!!!!!!!!!
It would be great if someone (that great moderator BigTallMensClothing) could convince the people at ecrater to adjust the fixed rate shipping so it could be used for international orders also.
Thanks,
Tracy |
