Deruta Chicken Rooster Pitcher Jug – Hand Painted – Made in Italy – 9" Tall

Iconic earthenware pitcher or jug hand painted in the bright, cheerful colors that exemplify the decorative style of Deruta, the Italian hill town renowned for its distinctive majolica pottery since the 14th century. Standing 9" tall, the pitcher is inspired by the head of a chicken or rooster, with a red comb forming the top opening and an open beak serving as the spout. Completing the head are a pair of raised eyes and the characteristic wattle, which frames a floral design on the belly. The jug's body features two dramatic raffaelesco motifs: the stylized dragon-like creature supposedly adapted from the work of the Renaissance master artist Raphael. The hand painting - in blues, greens, reds, yellows, and deep gold on a white glaze background - intentionally shows the fluid brushstrokes and strays outside the black outlines, giving the decoration a delightful sense of liveliness. The gaily striped handle features a convenient thumb rest for a good grip. Charming traditional design that can be used as a centerpiece, vase, beverage server, or decoration.

Antique/Vintage Large Square Glass Apothecary Druggist Candy Jar – Ground Stopper, Thumbprint Lid

Beautiful example of the large, clear glass jars that a druggist or candy shop of yesteryear would set out on the counter for display. Such jars were advertised in the 19th and early 20th centuries specifically as "Shelf and Counter Ware" and would be affixed with a paper label indicating the contents. The square jar is 11" tall and features a generous 4-inch wide mouth, which is fitted with a ground glass stopper with decorative thumbprint lid and bead top. Today this jar would make a handsome addition to a vintage glass collection and would look lovely on display filled with escargot shells, colorful marbles, favorite bath salts, or candies.

Vintage Chamart Limoges France Porcelain Trinket Jewelry Box – Large Box With Fantasy Decoration

Exquisite jewelry or trinket box made of fine white porcelain from Limoges, France, which has been a center for high-quality porcelain since the 18th century. The large, round box is decorated in rich blue, gold, and olive green with fanciful scenes that suggest a faraway land or mythological story, accented with floral garlands, butterflies, and a bird. The bottom of the box is marked "Chamart France Limoges." Charmart has been a respected importer of fine French porcelain since the 1950s, and its founder, Charles Martine, a well-known figure in the giftware industry, was largely responsible for introducing larger Limoges boxes as decorative "coffee table" items at mid-century. This box is a beautiful display item that would indeed be at home on a living room coffee table or other high-visibility spot in the decor scheme.

The Emperor's Bowl – Blue and White Porcelain Made in Japan – Franklin Mint 1981

The Emperor's Bowl is an elegant 8-sided bowl inspired by Chinese culture. Decorating the panels on the outside are animals that might be taken from the Chinese zodiac — a pig, dragon, ox, dog, rooster, horse, goat — along with a phoenix. On the inside are chrysanthemum blossoms swirling around a yin and yang symbol at the bowl's center. The bowl sits atop a hardwood stand, whose warm rosewood stain provides a lovely contrast to the cool blue and white of the fine porcelain. Made by Franklin Porcelain, which was a division of Franklin Mint, one of America's best-known manufacturers of collectibles and home decor since its founding in 1964. Beautiful display piece in classic colors, with a unique design.

Vintage Eldreth Pottery Salt Glazed Stoneware Cat – Hand Crafted in America – Signed and Dated

Adorable cat figurine hand crafted of salt-glazed stoneware by Eldreth Pottery, one of the most respected traditional potteries in America. Dave Eldreth began his award-winning pottery in 1972 to preserve our heritage of quality stoneware and redware ceramics. His unique pieces, hand formed and hand painted, are inspired by the pottery that has been part of the country's artistic history since the 1600s but carry his distinctive touch and meticulous craftsmanship. The cat is Dave's own design and portrays a whimsical cat lying down with paws tucked and striped tail curled. Typical of salt-glazed stoneware, the body is a mellow gray, glazed with a deep cobalt blue and hints of chocolate brown.

Antique Tobacco Tin – Handsome Dan Bulldog Yale Mascot – LL Stoddard, New Haven - Rare

Antique tobacco tin that once contained a mixture named for the mascot of Yale University: a bulldog named Handsome Dan. The lithographed tin prominently features a portrait of the brindle-and-white dog, who was adopted by a Yale student around 1889 and became the first sports mascot in college history when he began attending athletic events with his master. Handsome Dan was a famous figure in the late 19th century, having won numerous prizes at prestigious dog shows. So he made an attractive advertising symbol for L.L. Stoddard, who the tin states was a dealer of "Fine Tobaccos, Cigars, & Pipes" in New Haven, CT. The hinged-lid, rectangular tin is printed in blue, turquoise, gold, and white and likely dates to the early 1900s. Coveted collectible for connoisseurs of tobacco memorabilia, tins, dogs, New Haven history, and, especially, all things Yale University.

Kittens on Vacation - By Shinjiro Sagara - Cat Photos Around the World

"Kittens on Vacation" is one of the most magical picture books ever published on the subject of cats. As the title suggests, this is a book about kittens, shown all over the world as if they were traveling on vacation. Kittens cruise the canals of Venice on a gondola, view the pyramids of Egypt, meet a koala in Australia, relax in the cafes of France, play with cherry blossoms in Japan, and visit the beach in the Bahamas. The Japanese photographer Shinjiro Sagara spent more than a decade taking photos of kittens in 18 countries, which have appeared on postcards and in magazines, as well as in this delightful book.

Audi TT Diecast Model Car 1999 – Paul's Model Art Minichamps – Quality German Brand 1:43 Scale

Diecast model of the Audi TT, the luxury 2-door sports coupe introduced in North America in 1999. This 1:43 scale model was made that same year by Paul's Model Art Minichamps, the German company founded in 1990 and renowned for its top-quality diecast cars. Faithfully capturing the TT's elegant lines, the model reproduces such iconic details as the 7 hex-head screws on the gas cap, the twin exhaust pipes of the 225 hp version, the 4 rings of the company's logo on the steering wheel, even the little side marker lights. The model is protected in its own plastic showcase with a clear cover and sturdy black base with a screw through the bottom to secure the car.

Antique Porcelain Fighting Game Cock Pair Figurines - Ebeling & Reuss ERPHILA, Circa 1920

Pair of porcelain game cocks made in Czechoslovakia (the Czechoslovak First Republic) in the early 20th century. The modeling is full of life, with the birds' necks crooked, claws splayed, and tails flared. Their ruffled feathers are accentuated in vivid colors against the white bodies: celadon green, dark orange, and gold. The pair was imported by Ebeling & Reuss, a premier supplier of fine porcelain selected from a variety of potteries across Europe that was established in Philadelphia, PA, in 1886. The backstamp on these pieces — "E & R Inc. Est. 1886 ERPHILA Czecho-Slovakia" in red glaze — indicates that they were made between 1918 and 1921 and imported from a pottery in what is now the Czech Republic. "ERPHILA" is a contraction of the founders' initials and the city where the company was founded. These are exquisite sculptures that recall the bold colors and exciting decor style of the Art Deco era.

Handcrafted Birdseye Maple Valet Jewelry Box – By Mikutowski Woodworking – With Lid Inlay

Exquisite handmade valet or jewelry box made by Mikutowski Woodworking. An acclaimed fine woodworking shop on Michigan's Upper Peninsula, Mikutowski Woodworking creates high-end boxes by hand using exotic and domestic hardwoods individually selected for their beautiful grain and figures. This solid wood box is made from birdseye maple, a figured wood found in some sugar maple trees and so named for its appealing pattern of small speckles resembling a bird's eye. The carefully conceived design of the box features a curved lip along the top edge of the base, which creates a small reveal. In one corner of the lid, which is made of "bookmatched" maple veneer, is a circular inlay of contrasting woods and metal, and the corner joints are strengthened with decorative contrasting splines. Inside the padded interior are a removable wooden divider and ring roll.
