|
|
Hi all,
I'm wondering what you think about the light grey text that we all have to use on ecrater. I find it very hard to read - there's not enough contrast between the grey color and the background for it to stand out. I've had several people email me with the same comment. Although I think the appearance of an ecrater store is very clean, I would like to see the text be darker so that it's easier to read, both for me and more importantly, for potential buyers.
Does anyone else feel this way, or am I alone?
If there are many people who feel this way, I wonder if Dmitri would be willing to change the default text color to something darker than what it is now? |

Hello dmhcollectibles,
You are not alone.
I also believe it would be a good idea for the text to be somewhat darker. I don't really want black. Just a slightly darker shade of grey.
Happy Holidays to All!!!!

Love the nice clean look of this site! One of the best I've seen and the consistent flow of the output is great for the buyer.
Should the shade of gray be a bit darker? I'd vote for that. |

Yeah, that gets suggested every once in a while -- enough so, in fact, that I'd assume it might get changed at some point.
I actually like the grey as it fits in with the overall muted color scheme but I can see how it might be harder for some folks to read. |

A muted color scheme is just fine with me - I like it. BUT I do think the text can be hard to read due to there not being enough contrast with the background. A darker grey would be just fine, it wouldn't have to be black - but based on emails and other stuff I've read I think we may all be losing some customers because of the current text color. |

Im sure this has been discussed before and in the Suggestions forum. I think the text needs to be bigger and darker. Hopefully someone is listening. |

The light grey color scheme is extremely hard to read especially with a small font. It need to be darkened. If people are having a hard time just trying to read a description do you think they really will follow through with an order? Not everyone has perfect eye sight! |

I'd vote for just a slightly darker gray. I like that it is not black as black is very harsh and tiring if you are reading for a long time. But an increase of 1 or 2 tones would make a big difference.
I'd love it if Dimitri would respond to this thread and explain why he chose this particular tone. He might have a very good reason. |

A darker shade gets my vote as well
I'm starting to think eCrater is not buyer friendly. As a seller I have always loved the ease of use and set up was painless.
I used to have my website directed to my ebay store, now it points to eCrater. My landing page and stat counter shows I get the hits but then nothing from eCrater. I'm starting to think buyers don't like the feel of eCrater |

I think the text color and size would be the next added features as its a major peeve to a lot of people. I hope it gets changed soon! |

I vote for darker color and a little larger font. Now it resembles the fine print on a contract. |

If my vote would help, I'm also for the darker and a little larger font |

My old eyes would love a bit darker and/or a bit bigger font!!
I'll bet a lot of shoppers would agree too!!
Hope everyone has a great evening!

Count me in for a bigger darker font!
I just opened my store here (still stocking) and I LOVE the look except I can see how some people may have problems reading the way it is now. |
