i haven't had a sale in months.
and then...
late last night i sold an item and it gets paid for and then less than 30 minutes later somebody else (supposedly) purchases the same item (i only have one unfortunately) .
it all looks a little bit fishy to me.
oh well. happy to get a sale but it will be negated by the time i have to spend explaining to the other person why an item that has already been purchased by someone else still appears as being available.
i still love you ECRATER. don't worry. |

If the second one was not immedately paid for - then it's not a sale.
You simply email and say we are sorry but this item is out of stock. we have these in your size if you are interested.
No explaining - KISS - Keep It Short and Simple. |

Still building the store, not open yet. So how does this work? All of my items are one-of-a-kind. If someone clicks on Buy Now and purchases, does the item stay available/viewable until I take it down?
looking forward to learning and sharing

Yeah, inventory control is manual. So when an item sells you have to go in and either delete, hide it from public view or leave it up temporarily with a "Sold" sign (so the buyer can go back and reference the listing after they receive the item). |

Sorry, can I have a follow up question?
I see in the product setup a box for "max qty." I'm putting "1" in there. Will that make any difference, she asks hopefully??
thank you

Max quantity is the number of that item anyone can buy at one time. Think of it as a sale at the store that has a 1 limit on it. You can buy one, run to the car go back in and buy another.
So once sold you want to put a sold image in the default or hide it or delete it.
Remember if hidden ot deleted the buyer can not view it again. Well, if hidden you can unhide it and they can see it as well as everyone else. |
