|

I am now using only 2 levels in the category field: Categories and subcategories. How do I delete the third level (sub-subcategories?) which are empty of product but still showing on the All Categories list? It isn't that important but "bugs" me to see and not know how to delete . . .

You shold be able to go into admin, go into Categories, navigate to the list that shows the category you want to delete and hit the red X to the right of it.. |

Remember to move the items out of the category BEFORE you delete it - deleting the category WILL delete the product.

Thanks to both of you for the help.
Poopsheet that was the first thing I tried but the 3rd level category doesn't show. The only time it appears is when I go into admin, then into Product and click on Choose Category. Guess the best thing to do is just ignore as it isn't that important - but I keep thinking there must be a way to delete. |

Huh. Well, that is weird. If you can see it in the Choose Category dropdown menu then that's supposed to mean that it's one of your existing categories that's visible in your store somewhere -- but I don't see any 3rd level cats in your store. But it's not possible to create a category and hide it... |

Once you are there click on the level 2 category -- I think you click on edit --- but it might be the caeogry name itself. Sorry I am not 100% sure and too tired to go play with it myself right now. BUT the sub categories under that category should then appear.
