what are meta tags?

can anyone explain to me what meta tags are and how to put them on my site? thank you for your help

You enter them by going to "Edit Texts" of your account, and clicking on:
"Meta Description Tag", and then writing them in the box and clicking "update." If you click on the blue question mark next to the box you are entering them you will see an example.
Do the similar thing with "Meta Keywords Tag" (again clicking on the blue question mark next to it will help you see example.)

Do it after your store is complete. That is after you listed all your products. So it is more relevant to what you have in your store. And test it with the analyzers.
