Can I offer gift wrapping as an additional service?

I would like to offer gift wrapping as an additional add on service. I realize I can't add it to the item but can I add it as a separate item and category? I've been wondering about this for awhile and now that it's the holidays I thought I should ask. Thanks in advance. Vicky

You can't list gift wrapping as a separate item.

If you are going to charge more than regular item, then you can make a separate listing for it and make sure you make the difference clear in the titles.

If you are not going to charge more than just edit your listings to state people should let you know if they want gift wrapping with their purchase.

I am not sure what you mean by make a separate listing for it. How would that be different then a separate item? Do you mean if I am selling an item for lets say a mirror. Then make another for the same mirror with an additional amount for gift wrapping? If that is the case it would be impossible for me to offer gift wrapping. I am talking about hundred's of items. Anyhow, wouldn't that sort of violate Google's rules of multiple listings for the same item?

Just wondering why I can't offer gift wrapping as a separate service. I noticed that ecrater has a category for services. Lots of people are selling ecrater logos etc. Wouldn't that be pretty much the same thing? The customer is still getting an add on item is all.

I know you want to "sell" gift wrapping but why not put it as a "free option"
Just add to your front page to contact you if they want free wrapping.
Your items are small enough that wrapping would not cost that much.
Just a suggestion.
