I like it the way it is now. If a customer is searching for a particular product - say, avon cologne, they are not searching for a particular store. They are searching for that kind of product. Why would they want to be directed to just one store after clicking on one item if they are still browsing around? If they are satisfied that this is the product they want, they can click on that store. If they still want to browse, then they can click on another product.

They already saw the other items in the list before clicking on my item. They then should see MY other similar items. I sell very inexpensive items and depend on add-on sales. JMO

If I don't have what they want they can go back to the list and find another seller.

But for those who do like it this way, then an opt-in feature would work for all.

I wrote this before but I guess I have to repeat myself.

The only time other people product buttons appear in a product page is when the product page is reached with the search from eCrater's homepage. But that is by no means the only way to reach either one of the product pages. For whose who missed the info each product appear in two separate locations. One is in the homepage of eCrater inside the Global Categories. The other is in the local categories of your store homepage.

As example:
http://acread.ecrater.com/product.php?pid=6415850 (product page at my store site. Notice the logo of my store at the top left corner of the page. See the items at the bottom. All of those are my product)

http://www.ecrater.com/product.php?pid=6415850 (same product page at eCrater's category: Books & Magazines > Books > Fiction Books Notice the eCrater logo on the top left of the product page. Also the url is different from the previous one. There is a link to sellers store right below the "buy now" button. Look at the products at the bottom of the page. All those are mine).

Now if you look for the same product from eCrater's search, this is what you see: http://www.ecrater.com/product.php?pid=6415850&keywords=skin+game (reached through the search. Notice buttons at the bottom. Those are not my products)

If you search for the same product at Google Product Search, this is what you see: http://www.ecrater.com/product.php?pid=6415850 (notice the products at the bottom of the page they are all mine. I reached that page from this search: http://www.google.com/products?q=Skin+Game+by+Ava+Gray&hl=en&aq=f my item right now is second product on the search result.)

If you search for the same product at Google search engine this is what you get: http://www.ecrater.com/product.php?pid=6415850 (Still all my products at the bottom of the page. Reached it with: http://www.google.com/search?q=Skin%20Game%20by%20Ava%20Gray&hl=en&sa=N&tab=fw currently at the bottom of the first search page)

Of course Google search engine is not the only way to reach my product pages. Yahoo, Bing etc is another route. Also I post links to the product pages in my store and not at eCrater homepage. Cause if anyone drops in I want them to be able to see the page I want.

I have been monitoring my store for about 2 year. In that time the amount of traffic it got through eCrater search is considerably lower than the amount of traffic I get from Google, Google Product Search, links posted on forums and social network sited etc. We are talking a drop in the bucket here. Considering it is one out of many options that do not have it and from a source that does not bring a lot of traffic, it is not the most significant issue ever. Also remember you get other peoples items in your product pages but they get to display yours in their product pages as well. So things even out at the end.

See what I mean? http://www.ecrater.com/product.php?pid=5899443&keywords=skin+game (bottom of the page)

But leave all that aside. You don't have a single item listed in your store(s). So what exactly are you complaining about? About not being able to sell products you've never listed at eCrater?

I just recently opened the store. I haven't done anything with it because after opening it I discovered the changes where all the description does not show and where other sellers items show on individual item pages.

I am still trying to decide if this will work for me. Once I have made a decision I will either:
1. Delete the store
2. List items

I don't do things on a whim or put a lot of time and effort into building something that won't work. I agree I should have looked first but as I said, the last time I was shopping here that didn't happen.

And, yes, I always go to ecrater.com and search within ecrater to find items. It was how I support other sellers who have moved on to here. I just haven't bought anything in the past 8 months to a year due to my no longer selling on ebay and therefore curtailing my shopping budget as well.

I think since Ecrater is a collection of individual stores it should show all related items originating from main ecrater search.

If the buyer directly goes to the seller store he can see only that sellers items. So I think it won't affect the sales as majority of traffic is from google base.

Google Shopping takes you to the main site, not the seller's store. This is the problem.

Because many sellers only sell products in one category. So everything in their store is "that kind of product".
