Hi all,
I just received an email from a potential customer saying he was from London and realized that I didn't ship internationally so he wondered if I would agree to this transaction.
Here is the actual email contents. If anyone receives an email like this do not fall for it. A similar one is posted at our post office.
Good day,thanks for the response i am really glad you
still have the item in good condition ,I am highly interested in buying
this item from you,i will proceed and inform my banker to send you
a Certified Check for the payment so that as soon as you receive
the check you go cash it, so that pick
up can be scheduled by my shipper.You should kindly send me your full
contact details with your full name (physical address) so that
the payment can be issued out immediately, as soon as i receive all the
information needed i will send your payment out to you.Thanks. Send me your info as requested below:
Your full name (as it will appear on the check).
* Your full contact address.
* Your postal code
* Your country
*Your private mobile/home phone number
Am sorry i cant come personally because am a very busy Man, and i promise to even pay more than the price for the extra work am giving you, its not going to take time before you receive the check.

Happy to help. Most people would know better then to fall for this, but the first email I received from him sounded legitimate. He just asked if a certain item was available and could I ship it to him while he was in the US. |

I think he forgot to ask you to bend over.
Sorry, just couldn't help it.
Seriously is there anyone who would give out all that highly information to a complete stranger any more? And all of it at the same time. |

He could have just cut to the chase and said send your passport, driver's license, birth certificate and social security number.
If he had he could have scammed 20 people while he was emailing you. |

He already asked for the social security number. |

I meant forget all the extraneous information. Just the facts ma'am. Just the facts.
This was someone trying to steal an identity. |

LOL I think that is extremely obvious (and very similar to what I posted. I just put it more crudely ) |

When I was on iOffer I would get junk like that or better yet I advertised on Craigslist a car I had for sale. that was a nighmare. I didn't know who was serious & who was a prank. After awhile I figured it out but it was so frustrating as you want to sell your item for real & others want you give you a bad time & fill your mailbox with their junk. I was so happy when someone in town drove by & bought my car! |

|
|
They even came UPS overnight. One was written of the Kennedy Space Center and the other was Halburton. They came two days in a row - and this was suppose to be for an order of avon which was like $340.00. I knew it was a scam when she originally emailed me - but when she actually sent a check for like $1800.00 I emailed her and said, you need to contact me, this check is for way too much money, and she said, no you just cash it at your bank and give the rest of the money to my contact who will pick up the products. YEAH OK!!! Duh...
It is sad that some people actually fall this kind of stuff. I just filed a report with the FBI and kept the checks.. And who said you can't make money with Avon LOL |
