I think the following craigslist rule applies (even though ecrater is not an auction site):
Can I put a link in my for sale posting pointing to an auction site like ebay?
No - craigslist is not an auction site. If you have something to offer, please post a set price. Please do not scalp or solicit bidding contests on craigslist, and do not link to offsite auctions on eBay or elsewhere. |

Maybe say "e-mail for more info"?
I wonder if you could list a one-page site (if you don't have one already) for the sole purpose of directing people to your eCrater store (and wherever else)?
In other words, sort of a two-click way around the rule. I'm guessing that Craigslist's system catches the words "ecrater", "ebay", etc. and that's how those get pulled? |

Think you can list a Vflyer.com flyer on Craigslist. They no longer automatically submit to Craigslist, but after you publish to all the other places, you can copy and paste the HTML to Craigslist. Vflyer says that code is compliant with whatever rules Craigslist has put in place...
You can only have 10 flyers up at a time now, Beta has gone bye bye, and now they've put in place a subscription plan. Wayyy overpriced to me, so I just stick with plugging my 10 sale items every month. Give it a shot.

Somebody needs to clue in VFlyer then:
Quote: | Accessing the HTML for your flyer
You can access the HTML for your flyer by click on the Post Flyer inner tab while in the Edit mode. Currently two version of the HTML code exist: a Craigslist version and a general version. The Craigslist HTML complies with the terms and conditions of the Craigslist service and can be posted on the Craigslist site. The general or Other Sites HTML version is much richer and can be posted on other classified ad or auction marketplaces, blogs or other websites that accept HTML.

straight from craigslist terms -
Quote: |
7. CONDUCT
You agree not to post, email, or otherwise make available Content:
l) that constitutes or contains any form of advertising or solicitation if:
posted in areas of the craigslist sites which are not designated for such
purposes; or emailed to craigslist users who have not indicated in writing that
it is ok to contact them about other services, products or commercial interests.
m) that includes links to commercial services or web sites, except as allowed
in "services";
10. PAID POSTINGS
We may charge a fee to post Content in some areas of the Service. The fee
is an access fee permitting Content to be posted in a designated area.
Each party posting Content to the Service is responsible for said Content
and compliance with the TOU. All fees paid will be non-refundable in the
event that Content is removed from the Service for violating the TOU.

Think you're misreading the TOS there. It says you can't advertise or solicit on Craigslist "in areas areas of the craigslist sites which are not designated for such purposes." Posting an ad in the "For Sale" section is certainly not a violation of those terms - it's why they HAVE a "For Sale" section.
Commercial websites can advertise FREE on Craigslist, they just can't spam the BB with links to their websites in areas outside of the for sale area.
Notice m) says "that includes links to commercial services or web sites, except as allowed in "services". That is section #4, which covers goods and services, and Craigslist's denial of liability:
Quote: | 4. THIRD PARTY CONTENT, SITES, AND SERVICES
The craigslist site and Content available through the Service may contain
features and functionalities that may link you or provide you with access
to third party content which is completely independent of craigslist,
including web sites, directories, servers, networks, systems, information
and databases, applications, software, programs, products or services,
and the Internet as a whole.
Your interactions with organizations and/or individuals found on or through
the Service, including payment and delivery of goods or services, and any
other terms, conditions, warranties or representations associated with such
dealings, are solely between you and such organizations and/or individuals.
You should make whatever investigation you feel necessary or appropriate
before proceeding with any online or offline transaction with any of these
third parties.
You agree that craigslist shall not be responsible or liable for any loss or
damage of any sort incurred as the result of any such dealings. If there is
a dispute between participants on this site, or between users and any third
party, you understand and agree that craigslist is under no obligation to
become involved. In the event that you have a dispute with one or more other
users, you hereby release craigslist, its officers, employees, agents and
successors in rights from claims, demands and damages (actual and
consequential) of every kind or nature, known or unknown, suspected and
unsuspected, disclosed and undisclosed, arising out of or in any way related
to such disputes and / or our service. If you are a California resident, you
waive California Civil Code Section 1542, which says: "A general release does
not extend to claims which the creditor does not know or suspect to exist in
his favor at the time of executing the release, which, if known by him must
have materially affected his settlement with the debtor." |
Notice the reference to websites, products, etc..."we are just a venue" - now where have I heard that before lol? |

All I am saying is when I contacted craigslist I was pointed to the terms - which I posted.
Mainly that if it's a commercial ad it needs to be in SERVICES and
Quote: | We may charge a fee to post Content in some areas of the Service. The fee is an access fee permitting Content to be posted in a designated area.
|
Many online sellers have previously posted of ADS being deleted. |

No you can't. Mine got yanked twice. The thing with e-Crater is you have to offer an (1) item for sale when posting in their FOR SALE categories or post your business link under the SERVICES or something similar. |

Well, yeah, you post one item for sale in the For Sale section through VFlyer, not a big ad for your website or store. That's what we are talkin' about. I don't sell services, and when I look in the local Craigslist for service, don't see commercial sellers of products there, only housecleaners and the like. Darn glad I went over there and looked, though, cuz a jewelry store downtown is going out of business, and they are offering some incredible deals....now where is that credit card??
Never had any of my flyers yanked, yet anyway. If they ever do, then I'll take the website link out, and have the folks just email me....and then I'll send them to my site lol
More than one way to skin a kittykat, oh, yeah |

I was under the impression that people using Craigslist had misused them so often the name was blacklisted..
I would be careful posting under Craigslist. There are other ways to advertise than breaking rules, especially if the rules aren't entirely clear (not your fault I realize) but you don't want to take any chances, that would hurt your business and reputation.
