I have added a few items to my store, and I just noticed that I had around 40 views on each of my items, and now the same items only have 2 or possibly 6. What happened? |

Hello,
Don't worry. On the 1st of every month, the hit counter is reset back to 0. |

Oh. Well, thank you for letting me know. Do you happen to know why they do this? |

No, as far as I know it has always been this way and I have been an eCraterian for a couple of years. |

Actually it is a good thing as it helps you know what people are currently looking at. Depending on the number of listings you have and how long they have been up, you could see something with thousands of hits (which would make you haven't sold it yet) if the hit counter didn't reset, but with turning back the hit counter every month you can see what is currently being looked at. I have found that hits don't coincide with the actual sales anyhow. I have sold newly listed things with 1-2 hits and I have sold things that have been listed for months and every month get 100 or more hits.
If you really want to see hits on monthly, yearly, daily basis, etc. check out your Google Analytic account. |

Ya, I recently sold something in one of my other stores that's been listed for over a year and hadn't had a hit in 3 months
I don't pay much attention to hits, except for what Moonwishes mentioned about what people are currently looking at. Even that isn't very much info. It's better to use analytics and find out what people are looking for.
